Hence the word "most." Plus, Dru and Darla eventually abandoned their other halves anyway. Call it a time-delayed every man for himself in those cases. ;)

Plus most vamps smart enough to sire they cared about would either keep the body or be too afraid of the slayer.:o

they were also MUCH different then the average run of the mill vampire

How did Dru know that William would turn out to be Spike?

How did Darla know that the drunken irish man Liam would turn out to be Angelus, nevermind turning out to be the champion Angel?

Darla wanted a protege (sp?) and Dru was psychic and as for Angelus he just wanted to torture Dru.:o

What's to stop any random Vampire from having a protege? For a Vampire to pick a protege they must see something special in that person. Yet Darla didn't have the scope to realise Angelus's potential turn into Angel. She couldn't even sense that Angel had a soul at first when he was trying to save the baby.

And I love the way you always use the embarassed emotican as if you are always right, it's cute:oldrazz:

Actually :O that's the embarrassed emote, :o is the smug / bored emote.

and most vampires aren't really that bothered by the big picture, so they don't want a protege.

In that case, you're one smug git:oldrazz::cwink:

not to mention the "angel" family tree... was passed down from the master... so arguably, they all had better "vampire genes" ? lol

Dru was a psycho. I really wouldnt try to rationalize anything she did....lol

Back to the topic, the best deaths for me were Fred's and Buffy's in The Gift
IDA. The Gift would have made a PERFECT series finale. I felt it would have been better than Chosen. Ultimately a slayer's destiny is to die. Its the only way the slayer line can continue. What better way for Buffy to go out than to die heroicly? It was a very emotional and tough choice when she decided to sacrifice herself in order to save Dawn and the world. That whole season was about Buffy growing up and forcing her to step up and take responsibility. We were first introduced to her as an immature teen, but by the time The Gift came, she had changed dramaticly. That would have been a fitting ending to her story.

You pretty much sumed up why season 5 is my favourite season. I loved it.
That final was fantastic also emotional as well.

It has to be my favorite scene from Buffy

The S5 ending was awesome, but I still think the best scene was Buffy's "I don't wanna die" scene in Prophecy Girl.;o

so has anyone else watched the Buffy Animated Series pitch? It is GREAT! And seeing it now makes me miss it never coming to full term.

I haven't seen it, but I've seen a few stills and I have to admit I loved the animation style.

The voice actress they got for Buffy was a pretty good match for SMG, but was that ASH voicing Giles, cus he sounded different.:o

The person voicing Buffy is the same person who voiced her in the games. And ya that was ASH. At first I wasnt sure but by the end you can tell. I think he was still "finding" himself when it comes to doing voice overs for cartoons.

meh... i would have loved a cartoon, but i woulda rather it been season 8 then "lost episodes" in the high school days

I wouldnt mine either one. But Joss should try to get someone to agree to some DTV animated movies.

Agreed x 1000. It'd be like Christmas. Maybe Whedon could use his connections at Dark Horse to do the same with Buffy as was done with the Hellboy DTVs.

that was pretty cool! I can't believe that didn't get picked up. I agree with you guys that at first ASH's voice sounded off, but then it became more normal. Alyson's voice really sounded off, but maybe its just cause she was trying to go back to insecure, shy Will from season 1.
