Coulda swore Universal had another name for them, although they were very much in line with the Gentlemen of the series.
Yes, they called them the Body Collectors. But even the atmosphere music in the streets were from Buffy.

Angel was an amazing show just for the fact that I still, to this day, watch it and think "holy ****, this was on The WB?" It was just so damn dark and mature.

I don't know, was it? I thought it was canceled because of its ratings.

It was cancelled over some fairly petty contractual disputes, I believe. Shame. The demonic mad max storyline would have been so much sweeter on TV than it is in the comics. :csad:

Yeah, especially since there wouldn't have been horrendous art to distract from the story itself on TV.

And the characters would probably sound like themselves on TV. That's one thing Angel's books does way worse than Buffy's comics. The characters rarely have a moment where I go ''I can totally see them saying that."

Well, of course you guys know that, had Angel not been canned, the season five finale and season six would have been completely different, right?

Thing is, that's not true. Whedon has said many times that the season five finale we got was pretty much exactly what they had planned, and was written, or at least mostly written, before the show got the ax, the plan being for season six to be Angel and crew stuck in a Mad Max style post-apocalyptic world as punishment from the Senior Partners. The only significant change is that Wesley would have lived had the series continued, as Alexis wanted Wesley to go out fighting if the whole series was ending.

I could've sworn that Joss said that the finale would have played out differently if it was just the season finale, not series.

I'm kind of glad Wes died now. That element of uncertainty about whether he's trustworthy since he's now more in the thrall of the Senior Partners than ever is a nice way to keep his character fresh.

I just hate that they stopped showing Buffy on syndication, if I want to watch Buffy now I have to get the DVDs.

Nope had nothing to do with ratings. All about money and Joss getting to "demanding" for TheWBs taste.

I wish Buffy would had been converted into widescreen in S5 like Angel was for S2. Though I can understand why they didnt change it.

And watching Season2 of Angel right now, they totally shouldve had Spike do a cross-over for the whole Darla arc and perhaps have Darla and Dru cross-over to Buffy for a couple of episodes. I always wanted to see a proper Darla vs. Buffy show down.

I havent read the Angel series, but I have the first two ''episodes'' of Buffy season 8 and i can totally see the characters acting like that. Buffy still has her witty sense of humour, Faith is still a hard ass etc.

Yeah, but Joss is obviously more heavily involved in Buffy Season 8, then Angel Season 6, and Angel's characters are clearly suffering from it.

Joss was more heavily involved in Buffy the TV show than Angel the TV show and Angel's characters seemed to benefit from it, though. I guess David Greenwalt, Jeffrey Bell, and all the others who looked after the Angel TV show were just better than Brian Lynch.

To me it felt like Joss got more involved in Angel and Firefly when Season 6 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer started as that should started to suffer under the guidance of Marti Noxon.

I don't think Whedon was really involved in Angel too much until season 5, when Buffy and Firefly had both ended. He'd do the odd premiere or big episode of Angel, but he mostly left it to the other writers and Greenwalt.

Since David Greenwalt helped Joss with Angel since day1 it was easier to not be as involved with it as Buffy and Firefly. But hey Angel was the middle child.

And all Joss does is approve the scripts for S6 of Angel which is why it isnt nearly as good as S8 of Buffy.

I'm inclined to think that the horrendous art and Brian Lynch's inability to really capture anyone's voice other than Spike's well are more to blame for After the Fall's suckage than Whedon's lack of involvement. It's just not a good comic by any definition, let alone a good translation of the TV show to comics.
