It's a one-shot story by Whedon titled "Anywhere But Here". Then, I believe it's another one-shot story by Whedon titled "A Beautiful Sunset". Then there was Goddard's arc "Wolves at the Gate" and now we have "Time of Your Life" by Whedon.

Is Wolves at the Gate the next TPB to be released?

Yep, and I believe its going to also include A Beautiful Sunset. I think its supposed to come out next wednesday actually.

Season five ftw, but for me it's a toss up between 3 and 5. Glory is not one of my favorite villains really, but Spike, Giles, and Buffy's character development is just absolutely fantastic. I love the way the buffy/spike relationship changes over the course of season 5. I also like how Giles becomes a bit more dark and menacing. The mayor is hands down the best buffy, tied with angel. faith is one of the best buffyverse characters as well. My favorite buffyverse character is probably wesley wyndam price in terms of character development, and xander in terms of likability.

Xander became a complete *****ebage in season 6 and 7. Totally unlikeable.

The reasonings behind why he left Anya were just...stupid.

To be fair, the only Season's where he wasn't a *****e were the second half of 3 and the whole of 4.:oldrazz: Didn't mind him in 7.

I would say Xander develops from being a pathetic useless friend in the beginning of the series and gradually grows over the show to become a significant asset to the gang. I don't think he was *****ey at all in season 7, and i think the only *****ey thing he did in 6 was to leave anya (which was super *****ey). I feel like the wedding episode was more bad writing and breaking up a relationship suddenly just for the sake of making life crappier for the characters. Xander leaving anya was not really the result of bad writing and out of character, not the result of xander being a *****e.

I like Xander a lot because he is sort of the "everyman" character that a lot of people can relate too. He doesn't have powers or special abilites, but due to the emotional strength and kindess that he develops over the course of the series, he is a valuable member of the group. Also, I really like how xander goes from being the most pathetic character with the dimmest future in the beginning of the series to being pretty much the only one of them who is able to make a decent living for himself.

Xander was definitely not a *****e in season 5. Over the course of the season he became the most stable member of the group.

I feel that the petulance in his character that was there from 1-3 began to subside in Season 4. However, I believe that petulance resurfaced in 5, especially due to his treatment of Spike. I suppose you could call it him being protective of Buffy, as he was the same towards Angel, even to the point where he let his own insecurities expose Angels return in Season 3. The only boyfriend of Buffy's, that he knew of, that he didn't feel any resentment towards was Riley and that's because Riley didn't threaten his inferiority complex.

I like Xander, but I don't think there has been one season where I didn't have to say "for **** sake Xander, why would you do that?". But hey, I have the same opinion of Buffy for S4, S6 and somewhat in S7.:oldrazz:

Xander was much more entitled to be a dick to Spike than he was to Angel. Xander's most significant encounter with Spike before season 4 was when Spike severely beat him and held him hostage.

Yet he was willing to see eye to eye with Angel in the latter stages of S3 after all Angelus put him and his friends through during the latter stages of S2 (which for me was worse than anything Spike ever did to him).

Spike was basically neutered and hadn't done anything wrong during S5 (except for selling Riley out). He protected Dawn more than once and was genuinely saddened by Joyce's death (to paraphrase because she didn't treat like a monster and gave him respect).

Xander had no basis other than petulance when he cynically dismissed Spikes condolences for Joyce.

He probably viewed Spike as a parasite and chalked any "feelings" Spike seemed to have up to playing a role so the other Scoobies wouldn't kill him. Angel genuinely reformed because he had his soul restored. Spike was good because he had a chip in his head that put him at the mercy of any human he encountered. At least, in Xander's estimation, I figure.

And may I also add that Xander only saw "eye to eye" with Angel because Buffy ordered him too. Up until the end he was incredibly distrustful of him

To be fair, I could say that Buffy would have ordered Xander to show respect for Spike, but he still treated him with contempt all the way up to S7.

Buffy never ordered Xander to show respect for Spike, though. Buffy herself didn't show much respect to Spike until season 8.

You mean 7? Spike hasn't been in 8.

Also, I'd say she showed some respect for him in 5 when he refused to give up Dawn's secret to Glory. She seemed to at least trust him a lot more with the safety of her family after that.

Yes, I meant 7. And whatever respect she showed him before that came in fits and starts until she had some change of heart or he did something to f*** it up. She treated Spike like a subhuman bastard 99% of the time until season 7, if you want to be nitpicky about it.

To be fair, he was a sub-human bastard about 55-65% of the time, at least, before season seven, and a little bit after that.

Watching Season4 right now and does anyone else wish that they had added Gwen to the main cast? Not only was she a cool charecter but she filled Cordelias former role as the sarcastic one of the team.

Gwen was alright, but she didn't strike me as all that interesting. Besides, Season 5 of Angel followed a formula proven effective by Season 4 of Buffy: When you lose Cordelia, bring in Spike and Harmony. And anyone who thinks that Spike and Angel aren't at their best as a duo is full of lies.
