From Epic and People Can Fly. 360/PS3/PC, 2011.
Scans

Cliff Blezinsky said he's going to announce 2 games on Monday (on Jimmy Falon), but it looks like both announcements (Gears of War 3 and Bulletstorm) have been revealed already. :oldrazz:

Looks like it could be alright. Not something that I find all that interesting looking, but I'm sure most people will be jumping and hopping at it

I immediately thought of the fictional Bonestorm game from The Simpsons upon seeing this thread. And judging from the scans, it looks to be just as stereotypically cliche.

Games sure have come a long way in 20 years.

Looks and sounds pretty cool. I hope it's co-op.

Epic Games and EA Unleash the Bulletstorm

People Can Fly Delivers a Blood Symphony of Gunplay and Carnage

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Epic Games, People Can Fly and Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:ERTS) today confirmed the development of Bulletstorm, a new original intellectual property from the teams behind the award-winning, multiple million-selling Gears of War, Unreal Tournament and Painkiller series of games. Set to release in 2011, Bulletstorm brings new furor to first-person shooter action with its signature ‘kill with skill’ gameplay, which is packed with blockbuster moments.

“People Can Fly has created a wildly fun first-person shooter that looks gorgeous running on the latest Unreal Engine 3 technology, and the skillshot system is a welcome addition to the genre. We can’t wait to see how everyone reacts to seeing Bulletstorm.”
“Bulletstorm is the kind of game we love to make because it's pure, unadulterated entertainment,” said Epic Games President Dr. Michael Capps. “People Can Fly has created a wildly fun first-person shooter that looks gorgeous running on the latest Unreal Engine 3 technology, and the skillshot system is a welcome addition to the genre. We can’t wait to see how everyone reacts to seeing Bulletstorm.”

Bulletstorm tells the story of a futuristic confederation protected by an elite band of mercenaries: Dead Echo. When Dead Echo members Grayson Hunt and Ishi Sato learn they've been working for the wrong side, they're betrayed by their commander and exiled to the far reaches of the galaxy. In Bulletstorm, Grayson and Ishi find themselves surrounded by hordes of mutants and flesh eating gangs in an abandoned paradise. They have two objectives: get off the planet alive, and exact revenge on the man who sent them there.

Players step into the role of Grayson Hunt complete with an arsenal of over-the-top combat moves and outrageously large guns. Bulletstorm’s array of distinct ‘skillshots’ produces unprecedented levels of frantic gameplay and yell-inducing satisfaction. The skillshot system rewards players for inciting mayhem in the most creative way possible. The more insane the skillshot, the more points players collect to upgrade their character and unlock weapons, which then allows them to execute even more creative moves and exaggerated skillshots.

“We’re very excited to work with Epic Games and People Can Fly on this new project. The first time we laid eyes on Bulletstorm, we instantly knew this is going to be the next big hit from these two great studios delivering yet again an entirely new experience for shooter fans,” said Senior Vice President and General Manager of EA Partners, David DeMartini.

Poised to be one of next year’s most anticipated original games, Bulletstorm will be available for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system, the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and PC. Also, Cliff B. never said he was announcing two games on Fallon, he said he was announcing 2 games on Monday.

Bulletstorm looks amazing. I love how they got Steve Blum for the main character.

The gameplay demo at E3 looked awesome and a lot of fun. I'm really excited for it, I love the Duke Nukem kick that you can do.

It's such an oversight if this game is only singleplayer. The whole concept seems so fun and silly, and having scores and points for kills, all things that would work alot better with friends, rather than on its own. It essentially looks like a cross between gears and Borderlands... Both of which are co-op.

I like it.

Seems like a throwback to when FPSes were fun, about shooting things, and cheesy one-liners (ALA Duke Nukem, Serious Sam etc).

I'm downloading the demo as I type this. Lets hope it rocks as much as the videos.

The demo was all things awesome. I think the full game is going to really fun and addictive not too mention hilarious.

See that demo just annoyed me because as fun as it was, it is definitely the type of game i'd want to be playing co-op with a friend.

I'm really looking forward to the co op mode that they have. In the ending montage after the demo the combining skillshots with friends looks like it could be a blast.

I just don't know why it couldn't have had story co-op. You're followed around by an AI character at all times, who fights and stuff. Why?!?!?

I played through the demo. Kicking people down holes is just too fun. I now know how Leonidas feels.

Oh no! Evil Fox News is at it again!

Seriously, I wouldn't want my kids playing ANY M rated game, thankfully I game myself so I'm in the know... however, most parents don't. Seriously, parents are stupid enough to go off of their childs word that the game is "ok". Do you know how many parents I've told about the rating systems on games like Gears, GTA and Dead Space that were shocked that the game contained such things?

Parents don't know. Bulletstorm is not a game I think kids should not be playing. Not because it will scar them, but because kids are impressionable and they will talk/pretend to be these kind of characters.

We live in a world where you can't say things like "cross fire" or "hard ball". We can't say the word "target" or "hate" and those are all things from the Liberal side. So... you're shocked that a overly gory, overly vulgar game like Bulletstorm that kids are GOING to want is in the news?

I'm not.

Bottom line is this: Is it going to stop you from playing it? No... if anything it will make you want it more, right? :p

Do you think it will hinder sales? I don't but If it does, hopefully only to the minors who shouldn't be playing it anyway. I'm not talking about the 16-18 crowd, I'm talking about the 7-12 group who will want to gobble this up.

Gamers really shouldn't care about this. Both the left and right HATE games/music/movies that are violent or vulgar, they always have.I remember the crusade against Mortal Kombat that Joe Lieberman and Hillary Clinton were in charge of. I remember when Tipper Gore wanted to have Ice-T arrested for his music.

It's the song that doesn't end, lol. If Fox doesn't report on it, CNN or MSNBC will. This doesn't seem as overly ridiculous as the Mass Effect sex scene buzz that came out a few years ago. That was stupid...

And before someone says it... No, I don't watch Fox New, only Kelly's Court.

Wasn't it FOX news that ranted on about the hugely explicit sex scene in Mass Effect and then they later admitted that they had never even seen or played the game. Great journalism work there.
“The increase in rapes can be attributed in large part to the playing out of [sexual] scenes in video games,” she said. I can not stop laughing at that quote from the article.

People should buy this game just to spite FOX News
