Call of Duty: World at War

I do also have to inquire how having zombies, one of the biggest cliches in games right now period, "raises the bar."

The fact that it's a cliche is not the problem. The problem is that with the previous Call of Duty games, they based themselves on as much realism as you can possibly get with the T-ratings with the first three games and they went all out with Call of Duty 4.

And now we get Zombie Nazis. ****ING ZOMBIE NAZIS!!! ARRGH :cmad:

Thaaaats Treyarch! They had to throw something in there that IW hadnt thought of, i mean hell theyre basically using all of IW's work just slapping a different coat of paint on there.

Just additional enjoyment outside of the initial investment, that is all, and the fact that this 'mode' is a friggin' blast to play.

Like how CoD:4 is basically that to CoD:2 and CoD:1?

The mode has nothing to do with the campaign of the game, it's just a fun addition, the campaign has all of the seriousness and realism of previous CoD game, even more.

Yes, seeing as how it was their game to begin with...

If you mean ATVI, then yes, why in the hell would Treyarch start from scratch in a game from the same damn company and the same damn game series? I see you are not a businessman or a fan of 'logic' All games, especially in the same series, share assets, engines and other things, it's just smart.

Especially cause of how big a success COD4 was, of course they'd wanna capitlize on that by using the same engine.

I can't believe people are b1tching about the zombie mode.

A game doesn't offer extras? "Screw them! 60 bucks for this? No way!"

A game that offers extras? "Screw them! There were NO zombie nazis! This sucks!"

Yeah, this could be the ebst game ever made, but I'm just tired of the whole WWII thing. COD4 succeeded, mostly because of the Modern Warfare aspect.

Call of Duty 4 succeeded mostly because it was downright freaking awesome. The fact that Infinity Ward went beyond World War II is just a perk.

Zombie Nazis have no place at all in Call of Duty :cmad:

It would be like putting rapists in a Super Mario game.

If COD4 was another WWII game, I would not have bought it. All the Call of Duty games other than 3 rocked. The Modern Warfare aspect is what beckoned to me.

I never said anything about it being a bad idea. I understand exactly what Activision is doing. Reading Comprehension much??? What i was basically saying is that Treyarch wouldn't be able to tie their own shoes, let alone put out a game that has any quality to it if it wasn't for the work of IW before them. This gimmicky zombie mode is just some foolish game mode that Treyarch came up with because they have no "good" ideas of their own. Im not saying this game mode is bad, but like hippie said, it has no business being in this series and ill assure you it wont return when the real development team behind CoD returns to the series.

You really have a hatred for Treyarch, why is this?

Went to Toys R Us, to pick it up. Because they give out a $15 gift card with it. But they didnt have it. Weak

Its more that I'm a fan of Infinity Ward. I HATE seeing Infinity Wards game being prostituted by Activision and handed to a developer that doesn't have the talent of Infinity Ward. IW has made the Call of Duty series what it is, and IW should be the only developer behind it. With that said, i plan on spending time with WaW and if it turns out to be a good game then ill prob purchase it, but it still doesnt change the fact that i think IW should be the sole developer behind this title.

Ive noticed that TRU doesnt seem to get new games day of release. Same thing happened last week with Resistance 2. They usually ship by the end of the week though

Unless it's a big game, stores never have it on the scheduled day.

That sucks! oh well, guess i gotta weight a couple of days.
