First Avenger Cameos

Yea as i said its doubtful we will see cameos of characters who are not currently under the marvel studios banner. I agree at most maybe union jack, and more likely then not howard stark getting a mention.

This has propably been said allready, but in this one Stan Lee could even have a speaking part. He could be a soldier Cap fought with in WW 2. They could chat after Cap is ressurected and visits the people he knew or something.

The Stan Lee cameo thing has gotten a bit old for me, personally.

It was nice as a novelty when it started, a cute little nod to the father of these great characters, but know it seems people want him to cameo in every Marvel film - even for films where he didnt even create the character in the 1st place (?!)

I doubt that; he's a preexisting character, in fact, he predates Johnny. So long as Marvel owns the rights, that wouldn't matter.

That said, I don't think they're going to include OHT, or Namor, etc.; they'll probably want to keep Steve as a unique figure.

The idea of using Union Jack I is something I've thought of, though; have him be the head of special operations in Europe.

yea union jack is likely the only "Hero" type appearance we will have in this film. As for other marvel folks i think and since we already know tony stark's dad was working for govt in ww2 he will likely have an appearance. The rest will just be cap related characters.

I think an interesting cameo could be maybe a young military couple with the last name 'Ross' and their baby son thaddeus....

yea in the end i think the only two cameos that are likely to show up is howard stark since we know for marvel studios universe played a part in ww2 stuff. Then maybe that union jack dude.

Union Jack and Howard Stark I can see happening in Cap. However, I'd pretty much limit cameos to them. Maybe the white Nick Fury also, if they wanted to expand on Nick Fury's history in Marvel and add that element of it being an alias as suggested in other threads. Otherwise, I'd limit character count in Cap. Have your core Bucky and such, and Red Skull with maybe one or two other Cap villains working under him (maybe hint at Hydra like they did the 10 Rings in Iron Man), but that would be it. I don't want this overloaded with characters like Wolverine was. This is Cap's film. Don't distract yourself from telling Cap's story by trying to expand the Marvel Universe in film.

spider-fan i totally agree there. Cap doesnt need to be loaded up with cameos here and there for cameo sake and all that. I would just want it to be as i said the core characters of cap/bucky/cap's girlfriend/the scientist, and others i dont know including the villains. I agree to with your point on hydra have it hinted at so then they can make it maybe a rouge group that is very underground ad that is why it hasnt been know much in the present or something.

Agreed. I've been saying Hydra would make a lot of sense to be the prime threat of Avengers (and I think having the Red Skull be their leader and perhaps get the Cosmic Cube is the way I personally would do Avengers), so eluding to them in Cap's film would be a good idea if they go that route.

yea i could see hydra working as a decent threat for avengers. I dont really know avengers villains so i dont know what else is good to go. Then do they want to be more realistic/science based stuff. Or do they really want to get into the crazy field of magic(Thor might be basis of how we will see it done for marvel studios) or alien/space threats.

I see them finding a way to work a Thor cameo in there somewhere, the same way IM and TIH had connections.

well that would be a bit hard i think. Since we know thor is going to be present day/along with asgard. and cap is ww2.

will all of cap take place during ww2? What makes you think that after the credits they couldn't have Fury meet Iron Man and Thor and say something along the lines... "The general public thought we lost him, thanks to some special brains at S.H.I.E.L.D we were able to keep the project on ice"

well i do think at the end of cap being it before credits or an after credit scene of cap being found in present day but i think it would be fury with maybe stark or just some shield agents finding the body.

Fox owns both Aliens and Pred, New Line at the time owned both Freddy and Jason. so both are moot points.

Namor might still be owned by Universal

Union Jack is possible

Howard Stark is a definite

Original HT is possible cause marvel still has the film right to him

Fury is unlikely cause of the way they're going with him.


I wanna see T'Chaka selling vibranium to the US Govt, or at least H Stark for the shield

I really like this idea - Such a pity they didn't make 'the shield' in Iron Man more prominent!

i was wondering of the captain america cameo in the alternate opening from the hulk movie...i guess i saw cap now how it was been mentioned , frozen in the ice at the end. but there is a small glimpse i just dont know what it is exactly, so im asking if someone around here is willing to help explain what is seen there...

well i think the original plan was to have the cap cameo there in tih but then cap film took longer to shape up so it was scapped.
