Cameron Bright is Leech!!

I don't think we'll get a green Leech, but I think that's a wise choice. I think they're making Leech out to be some kind of godly figure.

He has a pale, entirely hairless [head included] body. His body is pure, simplistic. The room he is being held in is stark white. Again, pure, simplistic. His power hampers the X-Gene, thus Leech can be said to have control over mutation. I really think they're setting him up as some God-like presence. A being of sheer power.

The white room: These stark white rooms always indicate something special. Something powerful. In the Matrix it was the Architect. In Aeon Flux it was the leader of the resistance via psychic presence. The stark white rooms have been chosen for a reason, and I think it's for that heir of power.

The Beast scene: We see him controlling Beast's mutation, again, like he's god-like. He has the power to change Beast from one extreme to another.

Everyone wants him: The government want him for the cure. The X-Men want him. The Brotherhood want him.

In short, I think they're going to build Leech up as something really special in this movie.
I'm liking the sound of it.:)

A thought just occurred to me. Judging from the teaser Leech will be safe and sound at the Xavier Institute at least for a little while. It would be interesting to see an emotional scene between him and Rogue, her helping him adjust to the unease some mutants are likely to regard Leech with, and him giving her a moment of being normal and able to touch another person. A sort of big sister - little brother relationship. I'm not suggesting that she should have Leech stand outside the door while getting laid.

:D

He could prove quite useful in the mansion

I would use him on Mystique to get her naked whenever I wanted

Quick question: if they are going to use Rogue to absorb Leech's power to disable the Brotherhood/Jean how are they gonna get around the fact that Leech's powers nullify hers? How did they do it in Evolution or did they just ignore that there?

Rogue and Leech did encounter each other in the comics once when the X-Men fought against the Morlocks (as a side note, back then he looked more like a skinny teenager than a little kid). Leech jumped on Rogue, touching her skin. The result was that they were both knocked out.

In Evolution, Leech worked slightly differently. When he got stressed he would accidently activate his powers and shut down the X-gene as well as dampen all other energies around, including street lights etc. Thus in Evolution, Rogue could touch him. He didn't have a permanent field that surrounded him. It was something that could be turned on and off, and as standard, was off, only turning on when he lost control.

Crazy thought...................what if Rogue goes for the cure, but it doesn't work on her due to her and Leech's powers cancelling eachother out?

Unlikely to happen as Rogue's powers require contact to be made while Leeches do not. Would be interesting if she absorbed his power and used it in the war to disable the powerhouses like Jean & Magneto

Anyone else spot this? :)

No I haven't gone mad, and I thought this deserved a thread as its not really covered elsewhere.

A loooong while ago, long before (I think) either trailer was released, someone piped up with a mention of someone that worked in an "acting makeup shop" (or something similar!) had been visited by the makeup folks from X3 and hey bought a whole LOAD of green paint in different shades.

Everyone at the time (when AICN "script" review gossip was rife and being regarded by many as fairly accurate) said "Oh its just leech. He's green." .

Well as you'll all see in the trailer Leech really isn't green. He's white. So the question is... assuming the source was accurate (debated at the time), who is all the green paint for? Apparently there was far too much for "soldiers", so who could need that much green paint?

Could we see a cameo return for Toad maybe? Anyone know what Ray Park is doing these days?!! (surely he's not gone back to Scotland to teach PE again...?! In fact on X1 and Star Wars alone he can probably retire!)

Thoughts?

Toad will not be coming back in X3. I think Storm pretty much fried him in X1.

But Toad... hmm... Any news of mass quantities of flies being brought on set?

Thanks but this isnt a discussion on Leech - its the opposite! He's NOT green, so who is?

Any comicbook fans give any heads up for suggestions?

Kinberg said they were thinking of making him green. But they decided not to because of his powers and they wanted to make him realistic. In other words, it would kind of would take away the seriousness of the character leech.

Maybe its as simple as that then? They bought the paint for leech, then decided against it... booo that's not very exciting! Burst my bubble :( OK, Lightening Strikes - go ahead and lock it down (cos I suspect you wanna! ;) )

I heard that they tried the green makeup and paint for Leech, but it didn't work out so they decided no to use it.

Not at all, actually. It's a thread on speculation. But if you want it merged or locked I can do that. It's up to you.

Yep.

Those green paints were probably for a different green mutant. As we saw in the second trailer, there were quite a few mutants with make-ups on. Caliban?

i dont think she killed him, remember from the animated series storm said it herself. "Killing is not the X-Men's way!".He just never went back with the brotherhood.

But this is the movie Storm, not the TAS Storm. And in the second trailer, Storm went totally badass there in the final battle. She surely must've killed some mutants with that tidal wave of hers. I think Toad is dead. Nada. Zip. Gone.

Exactly! By all accounts the audience is lead to believe Toad is dead and Storm killed him.

It's a bloody comic book! I am so sick of the reality bull, his character could still be serious just like Nightcrawler was. Now it's not Leech it's just some bald kid. Why not just let all the characters wear regular clothes and have no powers and just make some movie that isn't about the X-men, I am so tired of that crap. Respect the source material, if it wasn't for that those filmmakers wouldn't have a movie. Such a shame and a slap in the face to X-Men fans.
