Cameron Bright is Leech!!

I know Angel's x-ray was up in X2, so I wonder if he has a connection to Stryker.

i think that was more of a nod to the fans for them to squeal in delight at another cameo. i don't think Angel is going to have anything to do with Stryker in this movie.

kind of like how we're supposed to ignore the Beast cameo in X2, which is ok cause no one really seems to have noticed it unless it was either pointed out to them or they're a fan of the comics.

LOL @ ^

Yes he did, in the scene where Mystique is seducing Laurio at the bar, you can see Hank McCoy (aka Beast) being interviewed in the TV in the background.

for 1.5 seconds, but still its a cameo. a literal blink and you'll miss it.

I know what you guys are talking about, I was the only one out of all my friends who noticed him in theatres, but its not Beast. Thats like saying, "Hey, did you see the Lizard cameo in Spider-Man 2." But he wasnt in it, Doc Conners was.

yeah i think you're splitting hairs, besides Beast wasn't always blue and furry. so his cameo went by his real name, tis no biggie.

:p

I know he wasnt always blue and hairy, but he was just Hank McCoy. He became Beast when he joined the X-Men. I know Im splitting hairs, but Im just telling it like it is. :p

still maintain its just splitting hairs, but true the blurb did say "DR. HANK McCOY"...kinda wish they would've made that guy blue and furry but alas it probably would've cost too much.

oh well.

back on topic:
this kid is going to rock as Leech, he plays creepy and depressed very well

If by 'he became Beast' you mean when he turned blue and hairy then that's not the case. When he joined the X-Men he still looked like a pretty normal, if only a little disproportionate, human. And as far as the name Beast he had been given that nick since he was in Highschool

He sure does.
Thing is though, Leech has never been portrayed as creepy or depressed.
But I still think this is great casting, this kid is a very good actor.

Leech as too been creepy AND depressed, watch the cartoon:
Morlock Christmas and the one where he first shows up....wish i could remember what it was called....

but it's always when you first meet him that he's like that than the next thing you know he's turned into a little spineless broken-english talking frog looking thing.

I meant he becomes him in the sense that that becomes his new identity. I know he was stil normal with the exception of abnormally large feet and hands and saying, "By my stars and garters!" :D

its cool we can't all love the blue poetry reciting monkey man as much as i do.

Beast rules.

If Gambit is in it and he seduces Rogue, maybe they could somehow figure out a non creepy way of him and Rogue having a good night by having Leech sleeping in the next room. I've sort of had different ideas of some variation of that.

Anyone think maybe the mutant **** character, the one who uses pheremones to attract guys, might get Iceman to cheat on Rogue? I'd much prefer that to him cheating with Kitty, who as everyone knows should only be with Colossus among the characters that are going to be in this movie.
What would happen if Rogue touched Leech? Do her powers short out or does she gain the power to cancel out powers? Would she cancel her own powers?

Anyway it is cool to see Leech is in the film. He'll probably be used by the bad guys somehow to keep the other mutants at by.

Maybe they'll have a seen where he is hanging out with Artie.

Okay, if you want to talk about accurate characterization I don't think you should be reffering to TAS. But whatever.
Even in that episode Leech was never creepy or depressed. In fact despite the bad circumstances the little guy finds himself in, he always has a rather sunny and possitive disposition.

they need to have a moment where Leech and Artie interact. they're best buddies in the comic. what with their little tree house and all.

but honestly does Artie even have a mutant power? seriously?

what's your mutant power Leech? i can void any mutants power within a limited radius.

how about you Artie? *random smiley face appears above his head*

.......right.....

hey i NEVER said ACCURATE. as much as love TAS, they really had some wierd moments and things in that show.

why was Storm ALWAYS being shot out of the sky or fainting? same thing with Jean? and Wolverine's claws constantly changed size and dimensions. and the animation was really....special....at times as well.

but Leech was slightly depressed until he was like "X-Men come save Morlocks." then they did, and the entire episode got all happy and warm and fuzzy....

man i wish they had Claremont and Lobdell write that show...or a new X-Men show....

This is how it works. Leech's power does not depend on touch but rather mere proximity. If Rogue came close enough to Leech he would nullify her powers before she'd be even able to touch him.

Now, in X-Men: Evolution they did something to get around this so that Rogue could indeed use his powers. They showed that Leech's powers wasn't always active. So Rogue touched him when he was not actively emitting his energy nullification field; she was able to absorb his abilities and then conciously turn them on to use against Apocalypse.

In the comics and the TAS though, Leech has no control over his powers and they are always on.

I guess we'll have to wait and see what they do in X3

To be honest, unless the mutant he's up against is weaker physically, Leech still wouldn't stand a chance unless someone with power assists him.

they won't give him control of his powers, especially seeing as how they might be using him in the prison.

his powers will most likely remain constantly active.

Claremont is senile. He can no longer form coherent thought let alone write a good story (yes I am exagerating but the guy no longer writes good story, dialogue or anything).
Scott Lobdell would have been nice though
