Thanx, that was very intersting stuff.

If Avatar is really a new masterpiece, then we can say that James Cameron is really a god of successful blockbusters

Maybe I missed something but that doesn't seem particularly 3D to me...

youtube can't play 3d clips, even if it could your monitor wouldn't allow you to be able to see the effect...

...you need special equipment to see the 3d effect. that's just a sample of the video...

But like I said, won't that mean a huge problem when this comes to dvd or blu ray or whatever?

Like you said... three times :D

Yeah wont get the effect really on youtube not like its going to jump out of the screen or anything

not really. the reason Cameron wants to do this film is to jump-start the transition into 3d movies. now-a-days a lot of people just wait 3 months for the dvd or just download an illegal version. 3d cinema WILL give new life to movie theaters...

No I meant the clip on youtube.

But the home video market is still bigger than theatres in the long run, so it could do great in theatres then not so great on dvd or whatever the format will be...

well the big thing right now is that there are so many movies right now that theaters hold movies for only a few months instead of several months like they used to. so since you won't be able to watch 3d movies in the comfort of your own home for several years Avatar and other 3d movies will have the potential to stay in theaters for more than a year.

i don't think it would have a big impact on dvd sales though. HDTV's are becoming cheaper by the month so people will continue to rent and buy dvds so they can watch all their favorite movies in hi def.

Pounder Talks Avatar
Shield actress on Cameron's next.
by IGN Staff

US, April 30, 2007 - IGN recently interviewed actress CCH Pounder about her role in the acclaimed FX series The Shield. During the course of our chat, Pounder also expounded on her involvement in James Cameron's upcoming sci-fi epic Avatar.

IGN: You're working right now on James Cameron's Avatar. Can you talk a little bit about your character?

Pounder: Well just in terms of who I'm playing, I'm playing Moha and she is the queen of the Navi nation, and so it's an environmental love adventure in another time and space.

IGN: Have you begun filming?

Pounder: We have. But filming is very different. James Cameron has a whole other way of filming. It's a motion capture film, so it is not due out until 2009, because it is bit by bit by bit. I guess it's like doing live animation.

IGN: What's he like to work with?

Pounder: I hear that James Cameron has a reputation as being quite a demon. And he's kept that demon in his pocket so far. But you know, I'm looking forward to seeing what that looks like or if he's going to live up to some kind of reputation that somebody gave him -- I don't know in what year! But he's been lovely to work with.

Check out IGN TV for our full interview with CCH Pounder and the cast of The Shield.

hehe...i'd love to have a last name like "Pounder"

I have read enough interviews with actors and actresses, who worked with Cameron and all they say that he is a very hard person to work with. But it exactly what makes him looking like a professional filmmaker as he always gets what he wants

he's hard to work with because he knows what he wants and he won't settle for less. i'm glad he has his ideas cemented in his head but i can understand why someone would get frustrated by that...

Oh c'mon, if you want final result to be truly unique, you will need to do the best of what you can ;)

well...that's what makes him Cameron and not Lucas.

And that what guarantees that we won't get another SW Prequel :D

I can't wait to see waht the avatar looks like if the description is right then he'll look sorta like a blue thundercat:oldrazz:

the movies called avatar because the humans, unable to traverse the planet, breed their own alien natives and apply their consciousness into the alien grown bodies.

I remember reading the scriptment a couple of years ago; there was a cool scene where Josh Sully is in the infant body, learning what it's like to have legs again.

What I liked about the scriptment was the originality of the world and the creatures, but it was too much of a message movie for my tastes. The movie has the potential to be good, but I'm hoping the scriptments been developed a great deal.

Either way, it's still going to be a fairly unique picture - hard not to be when your main leads are blue cat-people.:oldrazz:
