doesn't look as photo realistic as the other photos imo

this is from the other magazine. so in the first magazine they tinted Weavers scan? idiots.

i disagree but still respect your opinion. my advice. try to look around the na'vi designe. eyes are huge,neck is long,skin blue and ears are high.
but i still see subsurface scattering(light going through skin and scattering the red blood around), physical correct shadows,complex hair and or course color bleeding(color bouncing) .

I think I know where you got that scan and it's one I did. And I did alter the color, but not what you might think. The magazine had her at such a ridiculous saturated blue, it was almost like neon. So I toned down the saturation after scanning it to at least get it a little closer to the more 'natural' color we have seen in previous images.

After seeing the big pic above, I see now I could have toned down the saturation even more. But probably not going to bother, willl just replace with that image.
 
Wow. That pic looks great, scans do take alot of the quality though.

i know that you didnt tinted the image. i meant that the peopel from the magazine tinted the whole image and then made her eyes yellow. they did the same with the Neytiri pic.
why are they doing this? how dare they? because people who are looking at the image dont know that it is tinted. i remember some member on SHH asking why is her hair blue. i told him because teh light is blue behind her. that was the only logical explanation. but no. they tinted the whole pic. so someone thinks it looks fake because she has blue hair.
 
IMDB says the movie is 166 long. that would be 2 hours and 46 minutes. not saying that i belive IMDB.
but if it is even close to 2 hours and 40 minutes then holly s...... the question is will people accept such a long movie with 3D glasses? can such a long movie even be in an IMAX theater?

Oh the Neytiri pic in the magazine was even worse! I was so glad to see those hi res pics from spoilers-tv to pop up. I got rid of that neytiri blue bomb explosion as soon as I uploaded spoiler-tv's version.

And I knew what you meant, you were referring to the magazine, I was just explaining that the mag pic was even more of a ridiculous saturation.

Btw, I can always find my scans surfacing on the web, a little watermark/or visual clue is always left behind (not talking about the obvious amz url I sometimes watermark, not all images I have are amz watermarked).

Not for forums, I don't care about that. I do that because some Avatar and Cameron fansites lift my work and present it as if they were the ones that spent hours doing all the scanning or capturing.

So if they have a resource I don't have, I add it to my collection and they get zilch credit. All's fair in love, war, and web design.

wow....I had read the movie was going to be about 145 minutes....guess that was wrong

Fantastic. The lighting is second to none. Hell, even the out of focus light shinging through the trees in the top lefthand corner is incredible. The hair, shirt -- everything is breathtaking. Though, I could understand if someone thinks Tsu-Tsey looks a bit cartoonish.
 
well 7 foot tall blue cat people don't exist, so I don't think anyone is going to think they look "real"...stunning visuals though....hope the story measures up
