Well, there's no real way to prove why someone is popular or not. But Jaden gets brought up more often than not, so it's definitely a factor. Will's recent film choices are another. It's absolutely possible that people have a misconception about Will, based on Jaden. But that doesn't really matter. Misconceptions contribute to someone's popularity just like anything else.

tbh i've only seen it brought up here. i never heard anyone else say something that would imply people like will smith less because of his son.

Well by popularity, i was also interpreting that as being well liked... He can be the nicest guy in the world, but people are not liking his movies or him in them more often than not these days. I don't know about anyone else, but when it comes to Kanye, I haven't touched an album of his since he released that ****** album 808's and Heartbreak. His popularity is more negative popularity... Thats all i was saying about Will, his likability has gone down.

Look, rightly or wrongly we have a combo of Smith's lack of recent hits which connect with the audience out there, some on set diva behavior by him and yes, the "Jaden Effect", fair or unfair as one may think that is. Look he's still a huge world wide star, but again, even back when he was starting out on his rise to mega stardom, that there were SCADS of people that straight up didn't like him or his on screen persona, hell his off screen persona as well. Name any huge celeb, regardless of financial clout or pop culture exposure and you will find a nice chunk of people out there that just don't like them and the reasoning is something which you will never know. Accept that and move on.

I would've been happy for him to stick around if he didn't make it known he's still a diva. Even then, I still wouldn't mind, if he wasn't going to be lurking around the DCEU. But he should bugger off really.

I feel like Deadshot is a good role for him at this point in his career. Lets him in on another (potentially huge) franchise, but he doesn't have to carry the movie. I can't see Deadshot getting his own movie, or being the main villain in any solo film, but he can definitely be a fair sized part of things.
