It isn't the smartest decision imo. It will only help peoples decision in choosing Netflix over them.

The CW Orders Cheerleader Death Squad Pilot

The premise: When a disgraced CIA agent who now teaches at an elite Washington, D.C. prep school realizes that his students have high-level access through personal connections, he trains a select few to be his eyes and ears into the world of international espionage, with the hope of earning his way back into the Agency.

Why do studios do this? When POTC: Curse of the Black Pearl did well Disney thought "well clearly everyone wants theme park ride based movies! Let's make Haunted Masion!" And it bombed. What they failed to realize is people didn't want another theme park ride movie. They wanted a good adventure film with fun characters.

And here they are falsely assuming that American Sniper was a success because it was about a sniper.

Nick Jr. spins off Dora villain into his own series, "American Swiper."

Don't forget they are attempting another go at it with "Tommorrow Land" as well.

I have to post this somewhere, but I don't know where so this is just as good I guess

That horse should be a red paste by now. I have no interest in all the sudden sniper hype now even though I have no problem with the concept itself. It is however (to slightly pun) overkill to have so many movies and series based around it.

They seem to be missing the fact that the movies success wasn't down to the exact nature of his profession, it was simply the profession itself and the results of it.

This has potential to be a lot of fun. :D

:funny: They have all aged really well bar Belding, who looks like he's eaten Screech and Lisa.

My first crush, Kelly Kapowski. :hrt

Mario Lopez is a goddamn vampire. He's been untouched by time. Same for Theissen and Elizabeth Berkley (until they did her close-up). Gosselar looks good, but in Zach mode, he looked old as ****. Belding looks like if you shaved his head, he'd make a perfect Kingpin.

I think it was just the wig Gosselar was wearing, I think blonde makes him look younger overall though.

This made me miss the days when the networks would do rerunion shows. There are so many I need.

Im hoping/expecting Tomorrow Land to be another success and of the same quality as Curse of the Black Pearl. Haunted Mansion just didnt have the cast or the script or the direction to be anything other than ****.

It had Eddie Murphy who we were meant to think made it good but he was already losing his edge by that time. He was better when he was more vulgar, not kiddie-fied.

PILOT SEASON 2015 HOT LIST: Which Actors Are Getting The Early Offers
by Nellie Andreeva

The vast majority of broadcast pilots have been ordered, yet only a handful of the hundreds of roles available have been filled. That is because the networks and the studios every year create wish lists of name actors they pursue before opening major parts to testing. And every year, there are names — not always obvious ones — who create a feeding frenzy, garnering multiple offers early on.

Rose Byrne was very sought after early in the 2013 pilot season. Last year, Mary Elizabeth Winstead was one of the top choices. This year, Jaimie Alexander has emerged as an early favorite with several offers. On the male side, Strike Back and 300‘s Sullivan Stapleton is being courted by multiple pilots.

The hot streak of series with black casts/leads like Empire and How To Get Away with Murder has not been lost on casting executives. Rosario Dawson is in big demand, with Sophie Okonedo, Meagan Good and Jurnee Smollett also holding multiple offers.

On the comedy side, Damon Wayans Jr. is once again a top choice, along with Rob Riggle. Also getting early attention is Mulaney‘s Nasim Pedrad. (A talent agent noted to me that she has never seen as many roles in comedy pilots specifically designated as ethnic as this year.)

There has been an unusually large number of shows that just ended or are wrapping their runs, making established actors available. That should alleviate a little the anxiety of network executives who are lamenting again the depletion of the broadcast pilot talent pool as competition from cable is stronger than. (Just today, a sought-after for broadcast pilots actor, Thomas Hayden Church, signed for an HBO pilot).

That includes the star-studded casts of NBC’s Parenthood and Parks & Recreation as well as USA’s Covert Affairs, whose stars Piper Perabo and Chris Gorham are expected to get inquiries; CBS’ The Mentalist and Two and a Half Men, whose co-star Jon Cryer was a pilot season staple before hitting it big with the Chuck Lorre sitcom; FX’s Justified; HBO’s The Newsroom, whose star Jeff Daniels is holding an offer; Fox’s Glee, whose star Lea Michele just signed on for Ryan Murphy’s new Fox series, Scream Queens, and Melissa Benoist was cast as Supergirl in the CBS pilot; as well as Cinemax’s Strike Back, whose star Stapleton is already in demand.

Parenthood‘s Peter Krause has an offer, Monica Potter has her own NBC comedy pilot, and Lauren Graham, who also was attached to a project she co-wrote, is expected to be courted too.

Meanwhile, The Newsroom recurring player Marcia Gay Harden is one of few actors at this stage of pilot season who are entertaining multiple offers.

Also getting pilot inquiries are Josh Charles, on the heels of his much talked about exit from The Good Wife, and The Following‘s James Purefoy, whose character’s fate on the show had been uncertain.

Among movie actors, fielding interest are veterans Kevin Kline, Michelle Pfeiffer, Susan Sarandon, Dennis Quaid, Diane Lane and John Cusack as well as Dawson and Freida Pinto.

I'd love to see Michelle Pfeiffer, Dennis Quaid and Diane Lane get on a good TV show and a move to TV could get John Cusack out of his current rut.I hope Piper Perabo and Chris Gorham end up with something good.

I would not be surprised if any of the actors mentioned joined already existing shows.

This sounds horrible! Why? Because it's on CW. They really have to expand their target audience because it comes off corny and lame.

How the **** is SVU still going? Is the audience really still hungry for weekly rape/molestation cases after 15 seasons?

Same way that other show is on when it's ratings are in the tank.

Good to see Chicago PD and Chicago Fire renewed. Only shows (well, those two and Dateline) that I watch on NBC.
