Gotham gets four Emmy nominations and Flash gets one?

This world makes no sense. I, for one, blame Grant Morrison. And Vince Russo.

The Emmy noms just came in and Jim Parsons didn't get one, oh my God, this is like Christmas.

It makes the category a lot less predictable. That ends the streak of Parsons being a lock to win it every year. I could see Macy or Tambor winning and I think it will be Tambor. Never understood the appeal of LeBlanc in Episodes. It's not an awful show, it's not a great show either. If Cheadle wins though he should keep it at home because I could see RDJ being the one who plays pranks with Cheadle's Emmy if he brings it to the Cap: CW set.

Modern Family on the other hand will continue their streak and it will once again be maddening, and I happen to like Modern Family.

And Taraji P. Henson needs to be in the MCU. As who, I don't have a clue. She's 45 years old and it's hard to figure out who she would play in the MCU. Her sudden rise will make it hard for Marvel to "Rebecca Hall" her in a small role for one film and then kill her off. I doubt Marvel makes that same mistake again.

I see either Wright or Danes winning and that doesn't bother me since both characters they play are a million times better than Sheldon Cooper. Then again, as hot as Empire is, I could see Henson winning.

If they're gonna go for a newbie to win, I'd much prefer to see Viola Davis get the statue than Taraji.

Lucy is trying to bring Xena back though it is going to take a lot of work

That was exactly the line of questioning when we asked Lawless if the return of Evil Dead could mean we could see her reprise her role as Xena, if in at least a two-hour television movie.

“I’ve been pitching that, actually,” Lawless said. “The fans really do want that, and I’ve met some people who’ve crowdfunded some things, and I’m just like, ‘Why don’t we just do that?’”

However, before Xena: Warrior Princess fans get their checkbooks ready, it might be best to wait a little longer for the character’s return. Indeed, Lawless lamented the red tape challenges that still seem to impede a Xena revival.

“It’s still about who owns the rights to Xena. But it would still be cool to do it again with Renée [O’Connor], me, Ted [Raimi], and Bruce. It’d be a fun little gig, but what that is I don’t really know.”

Of course, there is the other obstacle with Xena being dead at the end of the series, but Lawless has thought about this as well.

“So what? Technicality!” Lawless laughs. “No one really dies! Screw her head back on, it’s a bit wonky, and she’s got a really bad attitude since she’s been in a box for 20 years, so they’ve got to get Xena’s mojo back, and go and save the world somehow.”

Now that I had more time to breathe in the nods, here's what I like about them.

- Finally the Emmy's hardon for Big Bang Theory ends. The only nods are for Big Bang Theory other best guest acress are best supporting actress comedy for Mayim Bialik, but that's okay because Amy was my favorite (and the most tolerable character) when I was watching Big Bang Theory.

- Glad to see Jonathan Banks get a nod along with Bob Odenkirk and Better Call Saul for best series.

- I will also say that I'm also glad Inside Amy Schumer and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidy got a bunch of nods. They've been great comedies and they deserve it (though Ellie Kemper should have been nominated, too).

Now here are my issues:

First, three issues with Game of Thrones:

- Emilia Clarke getting a Best Supporting Actress nod is a joke. Nothing she did reallt stood out.

- "Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken" getting a best directing nod is also a joke. It's the worst directed episode of the season and I still have nightmares about that terrible Dorne fight.

- Yet Hardhome, which was clearly the best episode of Game Of Thrones last season, didn't get nominated.

- No Ellie Kemper for Best Actress - Comedy for Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. If Unbreakable ends up great next year, I'm sure she'll get nominated, especially since Parks And Rec, Nurse Jackie, and the Comeback won't be on the ballot next year.

- Bojack Horseman should have gotten a best animated series nod.

- I'm usually fine with "It's Always Sunny" not getting nominated, but I think Sunny should have gotten a best comedy nod for the "Charlie Work" episode and Charlie Day for best actor - Comedy for that episode.

- How did Keegan Michael-Key get a best supporting actor nod for Key and Peele? His name is the first name in the title!

I'll say this. This has been the best group of nominations the Emmys have done for years. The big category nominations mostly make sense and I'd say the best dramas and comedies are all pretty good.

The fact that Emelia Clarke has gotten multiple nominations for GOT, but Michelle Fairley never got one for her work in S3 is appalling to me. And that's less of a slam against Clarke (though I do think her noms are undeserved) and more a condemnation of how f***ing overlooked Fairley was as a part of the series.

I admit it's the old Married With Children fan in me, but I wish Ed O' Neill would win once for Modern Family.

I love Julia Louis Dreyfus, but if Amy Poehler doesn't get Best Lead Actress in a Comedy, I'll burn the world down. The Emmys need to right the wrong of never giving Steve Carell his due. Make it right with Amy. It's bad enough you shafted Nick Offerman.

Fairley is great. I wish she did get one nod, especially after the scene where she talked about [BLACKOUT]wanting to kill Jon Snow as a child[/BLACKOUT]

Emilia Clarke's nominations are very undeserved. I don't think Dany has enough meat acting-wise to be worth getting a nod, and Clarke hasn't really done much to elevate that role.

Considering Pinot Noir didn't get nominated for the Original Song Emmy, Come Join The Murder better win that s***.
