Heigl really cannot carry a lead. She does fine as a support but outside of Knocked Up, I don't think I have seen her in a movie or television series where she was capable of leading it.

She should have never left Grey's Anatomy, because she would have had a steady show for the next 50 years.

From what I have read she has or had quite the ego and probably would have gotten fired sooner or later had she stayed on the series. Getting bombed in the box office repeatedly and cancelled on television hopefully has deflated that.

The upside for her is they did not kill her off Grey's Anatomy so she could theoretically return in a contrite way if she could convince the producers to take her back.

I think her time on Grey's is effectively over. Shonda doesn't seem interested in revisiting that character again. But she should probably give thought to joining an established show rather than trying to build one of her own for the third time over.
