Its Always Sunny's characters should be locked in a car and driven into the Schuylkill.

On a lighter note, how is the Americans doing in the ratings department?
Ratings for first 3 episodes so far (last night's rating not included): 3.22 million, 1.97 million, and 1.65 million. Not sure if that's good for a cable show but comparing those to Justified or SOA's average ratings, it's trailing behind both of them them but not by much when compared only to Justified.

I've heard it's really good, but I haven't seen it.

Party Down and Veronica Mars alum Ryan Hansen will co-star opposite Ari Graynor in Bad Teacher, CBS‘ single-camera comedy series adaptation of the hit 2011 movie. Written by Hilary Winston, directed by Don Scardino and produced by the film’s Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, the pilot centers on hot, confident, unapologetic former trophy wife Meredith Davis (Graynor) who becomes a teacher to find a new man after her husband leaves her without a dime. Gersh-repped Hansen will play the shorts-wearing athletics coach at the school, a version of the character played in the movie by Jason Segel. He recurs on CBS’ 2 Broke Girls and was the lead in Fox’s comedy pilot El Jefe last season.
Love this guy.

Mira Sorvino To Star In CBS’ Jim Gaffigan Comedy Pilot
By NELLIE ANDREEVA

EXCLUSIVE: Mira Sorvino is returning to her comedy roots (she won an Oscar for Woody Allen’s Mighty Aphrodite) with a starring role opposite Jim Gaffigan in his CBS comedy pilot. Written by Gaffigan and Peter Tolan (the two co-wrote the story, and Tolan wrote the script), the project centers on Jim (Gaffigan) a guy who lives with his wife Jeannie (Sorvino) and five kids in a 2-bedroom New York apartment. Sorvino’s Jeannie is a super-wife and super-mom. The mother of five kids, she has a sixth child in the house: her husband Jim. Sony Pictures TV and Fedora are producing, with Gaffigan, Tolan, Michael Wimer and Alex Murray executive producing. The pilot reunites Sorvino with CBS where she toplined drama pilot Trooper last season. (She also reprised her role in the TNT version of the pilot.) In addition to Mighty Aphrodite, Sorvino’s comedic roles include the cult Romy & Michelle’s Hugh School Reunion and last year’s well reviewed Union Square. She is with ICM Partners, Untitled Entertainment and Michael Adler & Jonathan Shikora.
Jim Gaffigan, married to Mira Sorvino? He really out-kicked his coverage there, didn't he? :o

I like Gaffigan and Sorvino, but I don't see that show making it. I also thought we were over the hot supermom wife and fat, loveable loser husband.

Eh. Depends on the approach. If literally every joke is about him being chubby and his wife being hot, then yeah, **** it. :o

But Tolan did good work on Rescue Me.

At least they make the point that with Revolution and The Voice (and Grimm) return in March in time for sweeps, they could pick back up.

But, damn NBC...just...damn.

They brought this on themselves. Their midseason choices were absolute ****. How Do No Harm seemed like a good pick-up to them, I'll never know...

I really don't understand why NBC can't help themselves. There has to be good television spec scripts or ideas floating around. Try something new and out of the box. I always notice how they seem very G and PG oriented. Maybe they should try more adult material. Something, anything, because their current formula isnt working. I've never even heard of Univision. I'm pretty sure my dish provider doesn't offer it. How are they behind a network like that? I mean you gotta mess up bad to achieve that.

NBC fell behind the spanish network? LMAO

Though holding this until april seems idiotic. :o

But you know its going to be tame. Or at least that is what I assume based on NBC's track record. I'm definitely gonna tune in when it premiers, but it better have some oomph otherwise people are going to tune out. Heck, some are already going to dismiss it as a watered-down ruination of a good character without watching so this may not have been the series to break out of the box with.

Univision is a spanish language network like Telemundo.

I can't remember which one is owned by NBCUniversal.

I think NBC is trying not to spend any money. At all.

And the conspiracy theorist in me wonders if Comcast has been purposely tanking NBC's ratings so they could buy out the controlling interest they need for a steal. (Or did they buy NBC completely? I don't remember.)

NBC's problem is they are trying to target a youth demographic who doesn't watch TV on TV anymore.

And all the older folks watch CBS.

They got that idea from Jack Donaghy.

It sounded like a **** show last spring before they filmed the pilot and looked like a **** show when they showed clips last May announcing it was going to be on Sundays.

These were the other shows NBC filmed drama pilots for but passed on. They could be terrible but they would surely not bomb like Do No Harm did.

Nielsen will start using iPad and online viewings for their ratings so that should give NBC a bump when it starts including them. They were in the bidding for The Walking Dead but ultimately lost out.

Smoove will plat Deweyne, Jack’s good friend.

Studios & Networks Pursue Maya Rudolph For Variety Show
By NELLIE ANDREEVA

EXCLUSIVE: When NBC’s Up All Night started to implode this month following the departure of Christina Applegate, co-stars Will Arnett and Maya Rudolph immediately began fielding pilot offers. Arnett settled on a pilot, picking Greg Garcia’s untitled CBS project, while Rudolph has been passing on pilot offers — about five of them. I hear the Saturday Night Live alumna instead wants to topline a variety show, and multiple networks and studios are interested. I hear suitors include 20th Century Fox, ABC and NBC.

Rudolph, daughter of soul singer Minnie Riperton, brought a lot of variety elements to NBC’s late-night comedy series SNL during her seven-year stint there. Her memorable impersonations and original characters often included music performances, including her recurring gig as Beyoncé Knowles in the Prince Show sketches.

NBC, seriously, just let Up All Night rest in peace, would you?

He smuggles his cabbage crop on the black market, where he is captured by Colonials and then pressed into spying for the Patriot cause.

‘X-Files’ Gillian Anderson & ‘666’s Rachael Taylor To Co-Star In NBC’s Rand Ravich Pilot
By NELLIE ANDREEVA

In what would be her first regular U.S. series role since The X-Files, Gillian Anderson has re-teamed with X-Files producer 20th Century Fox with a part in the studio’s NBC drama pilot from writer-executive producer Rand Ravich. Also cast in the untitled project is 666 Park Avenue star Rachael Taylor. Described as an emotionally charged action thriller set in and around the world of Washington DC, the pilot follows an idealistic Secret Service agent who finds himself at the epicenter of an international crisis on his first day on the job as the President’s son’s protection when the son, along with several of his schoolmates, are kidnapped. Taylor will play FBI agent Susie Dunn, the point person on the abduction whose niece, Amber, is among the kidnapped kids. In investigating the case, she must reestablish ties with her estranged sister, Meg (Anderson), whom she has not spoken to for years. Meg is the dynamic, attractive CEO of a multi-conglomerate who is horrified by Amber’s abduction. Ravich is executive producing with Far Shariat. Anderson, repped by CAA and Untitled, recurs on NBC’s upcoming drama Hannibal. Taylor, repped by WME and Marquee Management, joins her fellow 666 Park Ave star Dave Annable who also booked an NBC/20th TV pilot, comedy Joe, Joe & Jane.
