Stephen Fry To Co-Star In Greg Garcia’s CBS Comedy Pilot ‘Super Clyde’
By NELLIE ANDREEVA
EXCLUSIVE: On the heels of his frequent collaborator and friend High Laurie becoming a TV star in America with House, popular British actor/comedian/writer Stephen Fry has signed on for his first U.S. pilot. Fry will play the co-lead opposite fellow Brit Rupert Grint in CBS’ single-camera comedy pilot Super Clyde. Written/executive produced by Greg Garcia and directed by Mike Fresco, it is about Clyde (Rupert Grint), a meek, unassuming fast food worker who decides to become a super hero. Fry will play Super Clyde’s sidekick, Randolph, the butler — the Alfred to Clyde’s Bruce Wayne. Fry, repped by ICM Partners and UK’s Hamilton Hodell. On US TV, Fry did an arc on Fox’s Bones.
Rainn Wilson? Solving crimes? This must be Dwight's dream come true...Rainn Wilson Set As The Lead In CBS Pilot ‘Backstrom’
By NELLIE ANDREEVA
After a lengthy search, The Office‘s Rainn Wilson has been tapped for the title role in the CBS/20th TV drama pilot Backstrom. Also cast in the project, based on the Swedish book series, is Page Kennedy. Written by Bones creator Hart Hanson, Backstrom centers on Everett Backstrom (Wilson), an overweight, offensive, irascible detective as he tries, and fails, to change his self-destructive behavior. In addition to starring, Wilson will serve as a producer. He segues to Backstrom straight from The Office, which wrapped production on its ninth and final episode yesterday. Wilson, repped by WME and 3 Arts, played one of the Emmy-winning comedy series’ signature characters, Dwight Schrute, since the pilot. He also co-created and toplined a potential Dwight-centered Office spinoff, The Farm. After it didn’t go forward, Wilson became a hot commodity for pilots, fielding multiple offers. He turned all down, including walking away from a six-episode guarantee on NBC comedy Donor Party, but I hear he responded strongly to Backstrom. Kennedy, repped by Abrams Artists Agency and Principato-Young, plays Officer Frank Moto, member of the Special Crimes Unit. He joins co-stars Kristoffer Polaha and Dennis Haysbert.
Get a thread made for this show ASAP!![]()
I've already made too many threads for pilots that may or may not even make it to air as it is. I don't want to get too far ahead of myself...

Great director for a pilot I have absolutely no interest in.Sam Raimi To Direct Fox Pilot ‘Rake’
By NELLIE ANDREEVA
EXCLUSIVE: Sam Raimi, one of the hottest feature directors at the moment coming off helming blockbuster Oz The Great And Powerful, has signed on to direct Fox hourlong pilot Rake starring Greg Kinnear. This is a major coup for the network and Rake producer Sony Pictures TV, which started talks with the director weeks before Oz opened to a gigantic $80 million at the domestic box office, with its worldwide tally nearing $300 million after 10 days. Rake, which is slated to go into production in a few days, marks Raimi’s first pilot directing gig. In addition to directing, Raimi will serve as an executive producer on the pilot alongside original series creator Peter Duncan, Peter Tolan, Michael Wimer, Richard Roxburgh and Ian Collie. Kinnear is co-executive producing. Based on the Australian comedic drama, Rake follows the chaotic and comedic life of criminal defense lawyer Keegan Joye (Kinnear), brilliant, frustratingly charming, and with zero filter. Rake extends Raimi’s relationship with Sony, where he spearheaded the Spider-Man franchise on the feature side, directing the 2002 blockbuster and its two sequels. In TV, Raimi executive produces Starz’s flagship drama Spartacus. He is with CAA.

Nah. Most/all end up being awful. The previews for Two Broke Girls when the series began tricked me into thinking that would be funny, it ended up being nonstop vagina/race jokes.
How did those commercials trick you?! Even they looked like crap!
...you were just looking at Dennings boobs, weren't you.
It was for the pilot.
When they were still trying to look respectable.
