Candyman remake

Love that first shot.

I would have watched it on VOD. Even in 2021 this isnt going to be worth the risk of a theatrical viewing.

Yeah... we should get this as a halloween treat this year.

I mean I don't blame them for delaying it, but I actually think it could done well if they would have stuck with that October release date. Maybe its just me, but I think it makes way more sense to try and put mid budget movies like this in theaters right now than something like Tenet or any of the other big blockbusters like WW84 or Dune , because there's a lot less money to lose, but probably more to gain from a delay though.

This has the potential to be a huge sleeper hit at the box office so I don't blame them for delaying it.

The original was solid, I’ll see this as an horror flick so I think they did the right thing with delaying him.

It'll be great to see a really good horror film on the big screen. You can tell the studio is really behind that for this one.

From the reactions I read, it looks like it's going to be a very mediocre movie.

Too bad. This franchise deserves another great film after the first. That first film is so strange but so perfect, that it'd be kind of hard to hit that precise tone again.

Candyman sneaking around in the background of that first still is great. As is Colman Domingo reading Barker.

Like how they’re leaning into the urban legend aspect and having Candyman’s origin be altered from being told differently by different people and changing over time. That’s such a cool angle.

Anyone else notice the painting of the original Candyman design from the book cover of “The Forbidden”, the story on which the original Candyman film is based, at 0:56?
