There really is no excuse for Bale's weight this time around. His physique is actually comparable to that of Tobey's in the Spider-Man movies, It should never be a comparison. His was in perfect shape in BB

For those of you who say Batman needs to be MASSIVE, even the comic list him at around 6'2" 210lbs, which is about the same size as Laker point guard Derek Fisher

who is clearly muscular, but by no means huge. Bale's build in Begins was about right.

People always like to make their argument look better by only using the weakest picture available for reference.. :p

It's no longer about just what looks cool. Begins had to establish that the suit was made for a particular purpose.

and like I said, that's an unfair picture to use, because that photo is essential a Joker photo. Batman isn't posing for the camera as much as in the Keaton photo. Angle and positioning is also very important:

^A bit anti-climatic? :p

We shouldn't even continue here until we've seen the movie...We all know that's where it really counts.

Hmmm...Another angle at Begins' suit. Pay attention to the cowl.

That suit looks sweet, in almost all the pics...its ONLY problem was when the foam rubber bent at a funny angle and made it warp, which you almost never saw unless Bats had his arms way over his head. The new suit looks awful, in 90% of the pics.

Solemnly agree.

I don't think he needs to be massive. I thinks he needs to be 6'2" and 210 lbs! And those 210 lbs should be made of IRON from obsessive working out and ready for anything.

I don’t know if it is only me or not… but I have a doubt regarding his nose from the first time I saw the new suit… actually when I saw the first set of leak pics… I was confused… but now I can see the problem clearly… why why why... the only thing I am doing now is praying… so that we have never get to see any wired angle of him in the movie… and one other thing… the new suit requires so many perfect angle to look good on the other hand BB suit was actually perfect in terms of every angle and in any type of lighting!!!

Speaking of "Year One," it's one of the more realistic representations of Batman as someone wearing an actual suit, I've always felt. His build therein was something akin to this -

We havent seen Bale without his shirt off in TDK but Bale's biceps and forearms look very similar to this picture

Yeah, like DEREK FISHER!!!

I'm not too sure about what you mean by weak, buf if you mean "small caliber", it's a fact that the smaller the caliber is, the greater the penetrative power of the bullet will be. It's the power of the impact that's diminished with a small caliber, and it also requires more precision to actually hit any vital organ.

No, I mean weak. Yes, because of the smaller caliber it has the potential to be very powerful. At close range, like in a card game, the Derringer was very lethal. The way the Joker was aiming didn't seem accurate at all, and depending on the type of Derringer used (there are many different models, some better than others), it's more than plausible that the plate could protect him from the shot.

I don't know what you guys are complaining about; at least he doesn't look like this anymore.

On the other hand...

The BB suit had this angle problem too... but I have to say I do miss this suit now!

Well, in Bale's defense, he did film Rescue Dawn before this. I believe the time frame for when filming started for TDK wasn't as long as the time he had for bulking up in BB.

yeah, but overall Bale looks pretty thick and tough. All arguements aside, it really comes down to the movie.

I'm sure it will be twice as good as BB and everyone seemed to love it.

These are like the best shots of the cowl in the whole movie. You can't really see the thick neck or the his egg shaped head.
It's a shame that the new suit still has issues with angles.

I like how people go "Oh, the new suit will be more mobile" but completely discount how mobile it already was in BATMAN BEGINS, sans the cowl/neck.

I think we have gone a few steps backwards with the Batsuits.

Despite all it's technical flaws... this was intimidating and sleek the way batman should be!

This suit doesn't quite evoke the same ideals...

Im just saying, if you want to keep the suits in the rubber/mechanical looking field - look at what they did in the 1st and 2nd movies and improve upon those.

It seems like they wanted to try something new here with the mesh... but got cold feet halfway through and through on those metal plates in any fashion.

tdk suit looks great, i find the batman 89 suit with fake abs and muscles really silly.

Rescue dawn was filmed in summer 2005 and TDK was filmed in 2007. This is a lot more time than what he had b/w Machinist filmed in 2003 and BB filmed in 2004. Which leads me to believe that this leaner physique was a conscious decision by him and Nolan.

So...muscles that at least vaguely resemble muscles look silly but plating that sort-of-but-not-quite-resembles muscles doesn't?

K.

tdk suit presents protection, the batman 89 suit did as well i just think that the sculpted abs and muscles were ridiculous.

This is always what in my mind Bruce's fysic should be:

Like a gymnast. It makes perfect sense since he's always moving and swinging over rooftops. Bale was close to that in Begins.

yeah this is how i look while working out;-)
we had some bale pictures posted whit a dark shirt ...comparing to the athlets here i would say he is looking similar....we have pictures from american psycho ...you wouldnt say he is too thin would you? or equilibrium...sure in begins he was huge like in reign of fire...i dont think he has changed that much
