Ehh, I'm gonna have to go with Deathfromabove on this one. There is little justification needed to defend an aesthetic choice. The burden of "proof" is on Saint to show why his manip is "good." Until he does so, people can say it sucks as much as they want without having to defend a thing. And even then there is very little need to defend an aesthetic opinion--we aren't arguing ontological proofs, here.

You probably should have read the conversation before you replied: I never asked him to explain why he doesn't like the manip, because I don't care. Plenty of people don't like it. None of this has been about the manip.

What I asked him to explain was his claim that a Batsuit using the modern style of the Nighthawk costume would make fans "a lot more upset than they are now."

He commented that he felt he doesn't need to explain his opinions, so I clarified why I think explanation is important, Then, he started moaning and for no reason. Hence, our current predicament.

Thanks for the play-by-play, Saint, but you're still clogging up this *beautiful* thread with your worthless argument.

I may think he overdoes it, but at least he explains his opinions, not just says 'OMG MAKEUP SUX'

unlike everyone else on these boards i am not intimidated or often impressed by your vocab and i'm equally unmoved by your "woe is me, everyone thinks i argue too hard" line.

:

WHOA...slow down there....

I doubt anyone is intimidated with what amounts to an opinion on an internet message board where you dont even see the other guys face...and if people are, i must say that the idea of that is freaking sad...

I swear Saint's life depends on this bat suit discussion, lol seriously.

Wouldn't be an issue if Deathfromabove hadn't opted to make it about me.

Let's see who's the better man and drops it entirely and moves on with the discussion about the suit.

Careful, Batscot, lest you receive replies rambling about how awful you are. I got one for clarifying why explanation is important; I'd hate to see what he'd do to you.

You Know What, I Really Love The New Suit, It's Kinda Kickass, I Can't Wait To See How They Explain It And Bruce's First Reaction To It!!!

Obviously the one on the left. :o

In all seriousness, the suit looks great there!

Yeah, that is the one I was talking about. So damn cool.
Its so weird though! And the fact that his cowl looks like a motorcycle helmet (spheroid) makes it worse.
But i like how they made Batman different in every story. Its as if they are drawing him based on various Gothamites' imagination/perception of his appearence.

This is the sort of thing people say when they can't do the thing they say they don't have to do.

can you explain this statement? i would like further clarification as to what you meant.

because i did say that and i also explained my position so it would appear to me that your statement is false.

Isn't the Dark Knight cowl based on a motorcycle helmet in order to let him turn his head? The cowl isn't what bothers me about it in the least; it's the neckbrace. It makes me think of Gigan from Godzilla Final Wars.. As did the neckbrace from the figure posted a few pages back.

Yeah, I hate the neck protection, I want to see my batman completely vulnerable to spinal cord and neck injuries.... WRONG!

Neck protection is great.

Well the good news for Nolan is that maybe 3 people will be reminded of Gigan from Godzilla Final Wars when they see The Dark Knight.

yea thanks alot Kaizer. Now whenever i'll be watching TDK i'll keep thinking of f***in Gigan from Godzilla Final Wars. F***!

I like this one if only for the reason that we get to see other, more traditional, bat costumes in the other director's segments. It's nice to see some really weird takes on the costume in there. Very few opportunities otherwise in other media, although some might argue TDK has a weird costume variation.

Very cool pic. The suit does look good here. However, in some photos the cowl's nose area looks odd, almost "human nose-like". It looks really weird in some illustrations/shots like the Empire cover we've all seen recently. Maybe it's just the lighting. Overall, I like the new cowl a bit better than the Begins cowl. Overall, things are looking very good. Love the new TV spots!

I appreciate seeing different takes on the suit as well. Especially if it's coming from an "outsider" to the source material, so to speak. I don't feel a need to see the suit look the same in each of these segments, and I'm glad that isn't the case.
