The Dark Knight Capes and Cowls - New Batsuit Discussion Thread

Batman is sometimes dark blue and grey, and sometimes he is black and grey. In the earlier comic days artists used to make their highlights with blue because their colors were limited. This may be the reason why you sometimes see him with blue tones today, or it could be because after they changed Batman's character and took away his gun they also lightened his color scheme a little bit. All black works for me just fine. Batman's costume in TDK was more of a charcoal grey anyways, except for the cape which was black.

All of the manips look quite good imo. Of course they aren't going to look fantastic for a batfilm for any of us but, that's simply because we've never seen what a non-all black batsuit would look like on screen. We just speculate that it would look bad, may not be the case depending on lighting and tricky camera work.

Oh, and did anyone think the begins suit actually looked good when Bats was on the side of scrows van? Maybe it was just the awesomeness of everything else in that scene that made it look good...

Actually The Dark Night is one of my least favorite Batsuits.

Why?

Because his nose looked really funky and weird.

Every time they showed a close up of Batman's face I kept thinking his nose looks very strange and it distracted me from the movie.

I like the Batman Begins and Batman Returns suits better.

Anyone else thing his nose looked weird in TDK?

The more times I see the suit the more I fall in love with it.

The suit is probably the weakest factor of the film - everything else gels, but the suit just kind of sticks out like a sore thumb, throughout.

I have to agree. There were some straight on shots of Batman's face where his the cowl looked as round as a frying pan.

I don't mind the armor per se, but it should be underneath something. Exposed armor looks stupid and does nothing to give the illusion to criminals that Batman is anything more than a guy in a suit of armor.

WRONG thread but here.

I will delete it soon, so hurry uo and grab it.

i would like to thank you sir!!!!!!! looks AWSOME:woot::woot::woot:

The Dark Knight suit was utterly bad ass. Best live action suit BY FAR ...
I agree. Seeing pictures of it before the film, I was worried I would be distracted by the crazy detail. But once I saw it in the movie it was way different. Most of the time the shadows covered everything up. And yea I love the suit. :woot:

Sorry but I just wanted to see what Batman would look like if they used the color schemes from the comics.

Batman almost always has a blue and grey or black and grey batsuit in the comic, rarely is it ever totally black. He does not look dumb in the comics.

I think we can all agree that he looks better in all black in the movies....

But does that mean X-men looked good in all black? Would superman look good in all black?

In the Spider-man movies they use the comic colors and it works.

Maybe if just done right Batman could look good with his orginal colors too.

I bet somone with better photoshop skills than I could make a manip using the Blue and Grey colors and make it work.

last one....

i think what you did with the bat suit is pretty cool but spend more time and it can be better, i say do it again but with a different photo.

chaos123x, you have some serious photoshopping skills. I don't think anyone is knocking your skills but the fact that a Batman suit like that in these films would look ridiculous.

Here is my little tribute to all the bats!!! hope you people like it!:cwink:

The first two look a lot like the Bat-Wannabe guys from The Dark Knight.
And I have to say, whe you put them all up against each other like this, the ones from Batman and Batman Returns look really cheap. And the wo for Clooney look really ridiculous.

Still think the Kilmer panther suit is really underrated, the nipples kill it.

the more I see it, the more I love the new batsuit. the cowl im undecided on - sometimes I like it more, sometimes less than begins.

The only thing definitively worse is the cape. the begins cape had the placement that allowed it to go over his shoulders, which just felt right. the new cape is more fitting for superman

Kilmer's suit would have been in the GOAT category if it didn't have nipples ...

The most bad ass on screen bat-suit is still TDK one. He looked ferocious in that thing.

The only serious problem I have with the TDK suit is that the logo is so small.

I would like to see batman wear more of a vest-type armor. I like the pic of Duke from GI Joe, where he has a vest and sepererate shoulder pads. I was very happy with TDK's version of suit. But for the third movie I would like for it to change again... just so I can experience something new. Also, I like the vest that Vin Diesel wore in The Chronicles of Riddick.

It was pretty badass (sans nipples, obviously)

I really thought the TDK suit looked great - I loved that he could turn his neck.

I really did hate the squashed nose on the cowl though.

Um..........because they are still, on face value, the closet thing to the comics that we've had?

The sculpured rubber was the only way of presenting a physique in the movies like the one in the comics at the time.
