The Dark Knight Capes and Cowls - New Batsuit Discussion Thread

I think the TDK cowl was great, it looked a lot different in the film than it did in pics (just like I previously said it would be), it was much better than I thought it would be.

the Dark Knight cowl was great. it didn't look 'lightbulby' at all. a huge improvement.

Didn't look "light bulby" at all, and DID look very good 99% of the time, but there was a good 1% or so that the nose just looked SO big. Worst scene for the new suit was the interrogation scene, but I'm sure it was due to harsh lighting. It really made the nose look giant. But I couldn't care less about that petty stuff it still looked great.

Also, am I the only one that actually liked Kilmer's 2nd suit?

Yes, having both cowls in the same film highlighted just how awful the begins cowl really is. The slimmed down face and removal of the "hunched" look were a vast improvement, as of course was ditching the bat-turn.

Kilmer's sonar suit, as has been discussed before, was not a million miles away from the Begins suit. Ditch the metallic colouring for matte black and give it the regular Kilmer cowl and you'd have a pretty good looking Batsuit, as far as black rubber batsuits go. I'd really love to see how that would look. I think one like that appeared in the last Looney Tunes movie but I'm not sure if it was black or glossy.

Indeed.

The design crazy design of the TDK suit was mostly unnoticable in the fiml, which I appreciated. It was sort of surprising, since we got a lot more good looks at Batman than we did in Begins. Doesn't solve the problem, but it at least softened the blow. It appeared to allow Bale to stand and move more naturally. Of cours,e the begins suit moved well enough in the opening fight--but that thick body, neck, and puffy chest still made him look really awkward at certain points.

Overall, I guess I have to say I prefer the problems and advantages of the TDK suit over the problems and advantages of the Begins suit.

Did it ruin the movie? No, but this suit was VERY visible during the movie, especially during the interrogation sequence. I'm surprised they cut the "running on cars" sequence where they could really have showed it off.

I still like the BB suit more, i think the cowl on the new one is what ruined it for me

I love the nod to the bat-turn they put in the film when Bruce tells Luscious he needs a new suit, and he replies "you wanna be able to turn your head", I thought that was priceless!

i thought the begins suit looked kinda goofy when batman was talking to dent and gordon on the roof, he looked hunch backed.
-i really loved the new suit in this film, i cant wait until he gets a new suit in the next movie, how much more advanced could it get....(hoping they are going to doa third film)

I dont think batman needs a new suit for the third film. hell i wouldnt mind if batmans suit was destroyed and he has to go back to the older version to save the day.

I think the Begins suit looked silly in TDK, mostly because the film was shot differently. The new suit was much better suited (pun) for the style of The Dark Knight.

Looks like batman is thinking "to hell with my ninja skillzors I look great!"

He looks terrible with the blue. Black and gray might work ok but that blue is atrocious.

^hmmmm, put the Returns or Forever Bat-emblem on there, and that would look really good.

Damn, that actually looks kinda good.
