From now on, I'll just assume you sound like Sean Connery!

Let's talk about suits, baby, let's talk about YOU and me.

Remember how nasty the suit looked in this picture?

God...it looks like he's wearing pajama bottoms.

It would be funnier if we got some behind the scenes pics where they were only doing mid and close up shots, and he was wearing half the Batman outfit, and on the bottom half he's wearing Superman PJ pants, LOL.

You know what I mean, have you seen sometimes in behind the scene photos they'll have the actors wearing half a costume, depending on the shot and how cold it is? Like a lady with 1/2 a pretty strapless dress and then jeans and boots or something cause you can't see her legs in the shot and it's actually 10 degrees outside.

Lord that would be funny to see Bats in spiderman PJs =)

Also I can see why you'd wear all the protection. That's fine. But why NOT put it under cloth?

Cause there's no way you could put protections that big, that thick, under a cloth costume and have a nice-looking Batman.

You compared it to Football/hockey players who wear their protections underneath their jerseys. Don't you think Batman would look ridiculous with an oversized Bat-shirt hanging from huge shoulder pads?

You can't have it both ways. You either go for realistic protection, and you're gonna wear padding so thick that you won't be able to hide it underneath a t-shirt and not look ridiculous.

Or you go for the "oh the audience can buy that" approach and go for a bulletproof jacket that's 2 millimetres thick that wouldn't even stop a toothpick and pretend it can resist a nuclear explosion. And then you hide it underneath the suit.

I personally laugh everytime Michael Keaton stops the Joker's bullet with that silver plate in Vicky Vale's apartment. Realistically there would be a big hole in that plate. And in him, too.

I also don't think a protective suit even one that's the size of the nomex survival suit from BB would look good with a cloth suit covering it. It'd make Batman look like Bibendum. Now we wouldn't want that, would we?

This is like....ancient batman. 21st century Batman is buff, Just like they gave Ironman a modern suit, similar to the extremis and not his classic suit.

21st century Batman has also been Batman for quite some years and has had the time to buff up.... Besides, I think two of those pics are from very recent comics, not at all "ancient" (not the Year One-pic obviously) And I still think Christian Bale could kick the butts of almost everyone on this board, he still looks very fit to me.

Okay, so everyone who can kick a SHH geek's ass can be batman. Now that we figured that out we can cast Jackie Chan, the dude that played Hightower, Bruce Lee, etc.

The first image is from Year One, the second is from early this year, and the third is from 2007. Not "ancient" by any measure.
I recognised the one from Year One. Its when he calls the bats to make his escape.

Still, in that pic, he looks way too thin. Like a teenager. Is this Smallville with Batman?

Not to mention that Miller cant draw to save his life!

I'd smack him silly. :cmad:

Then I'd wake up and eat my cornflakes ;p

Mazzucchelli was the artist for year one, and imo he did a great job.

Whoever did, did badly.
I think miller helped draw YO and DKR along with others. Something like that. Whateva!
You're talking about the guy that drew these:

Two very recognizable Batman pieces that every batfan has seen, I'm sure. David can draw. :cmad:

Now looking back on it and dusting off my Year One, you are talking about one of the most artistic and iconic pieces of Batman.

Epic fail indeed.

None the less Catwoman was ruined and I can't forgive him for it. Grr.

The modern Catwoman, kinda started with that book. She was considerably a different character prior to Y1, if I recall.

Did someone say Mazzucchelli couldn't draw? That should be a bannable offense.

Which is fine. Not quite the same as saying it's poorly done however.

Are we actually debating whether or not Batman should be muscular when we have one of the best actors of his generation playing him?
