The Dark Knight Capes and Cowls - New Batsuit Discussion Thread

I really did think there was a specific Selina Kyle/Catwoman thread floating around here somewhere, hmmmm...maybe Im wrong.

I was watching the Begins extras on Youtube. One of them was about the suit and behind the scenes you could clearly see how teh puffy it was. You could clearly see the mobility issues and how the chest bulged forwards when Buster Reeves held his hands up (while he was holding the cable to the train). Post editing we couldnt see all these flaws and the suit really looked good.

.

If you get a chance to watch a better version other than youtube you will find that the chest is bulging because that is where the preformer is being held by the rig that whirls him about under the monorail. The chest of the suit does not just bulge that much on its own. It is clearly being pulled from his body in a way, like I said you can see it much clearer on the 2 disc edition.

Damn this thread. I was watching Batman Begins last night and all I can do now is pay attention to the flaws in the suit. I hope I don't do that in TDK.

And the nose is exactly the same.

I like most of the suit. I will agree that the legs look a bit awkward; I can understand the justification (assuming the justification is increased mobility) and appreciate it but they do look weird. Other than that though I really like it. In the dark it should look just fine and I know that isn't good enough for many readers here (understandably so; a cool character should always look cool) but as long as what I see looks good, I don't have any complaints.

Meh, whatever. I love the suit. It looks different. Good different to me. There's a couple of shots where it looks embarassingly bad, however I couldn't give a flying saucer from Indy4.

Put some shadows on that thing, I hope that it is covered in darkness alot in the film.

When you look at these two ads together, the suit really does look alot different, well to me atleast.

I hate how the gloves have a velcro fastener which is positioned over the gauntlets. It looks awkward and thick at his wrist. Couldnt the glove go under the gauntlet, where it would somehow fasten on his hand? I dont want to see the bloody velcro!

Really? I love it.

There are similar ads about many fictional/fantasy/whatever characters. I have to say, I kinda like them!

I posted the other Batman Got Milk? ad above and there have been plenty, Superman, Fantastic Four, Harry Potter I believe, ALOT of them.

I haven't really liked the Begins or the DK suits but one thing I notice this time around that I personally like is that unlike the last movie, the suit isn't constantly lit or backdropped in dull brown. This time everything kind of has a blueish hue going on which is fine with me because I've always enjoyed comics and cartoon art where the blacks on Batman's suit are highlighted with blue.

It's a ridiculous ad, but that's why it's so popular.

I guess it's an "American" thing. :p

Well the brown hue gave it a BTAS feel. Just a bit.
This is so much colder and serious. Brrr....

But i love those little details!

Yeah probably. Poor batman!

Does the TDK suit have an enhanced olfactory capability. If so that would explain the nose as pictured here........
