I'd love to see that on screen.:brucebat:

THATS IT! I love it!

Wow, I'm saving that pic. If I ever make a Batman film I will use that exact costume. It's the most perfect blend of "classic, comic style" and "film-suitable reality."

yeah that's what I'VE been talking about..

with the current TDK suit, think of that as the muscles that are attached to your bones, right? then put a skin over the top of that (Kevlar, Bulletproof substance, material, etc) and you'll have a wicked, similar to the comic, muscular looking suit that most people would be happy with..

plus with a similar material cape, that's black, that's draped over the shoulders, not material (cloth) cos it looks weird..

instead of moulded rubber..

Which is why I suggested making it in the same manner was the Spider-Man, FF, or even Begins suits; to give it some weight and toughness that the DE suit didn't have.

oh yeah..sorry, didn't read that part. kinda jumped the gun i guess. if that were done in the manner of the those suits it would've been alright, but i still don't care for the design. it's too basic and text book for my tastes.

Also, I'm not sure I understand your complaint, when I consider that batsuit manipulation based on the Johnny Storm picture you did a while back. Your comments seem as applicable to that suit as they do to the MK suit above. For the record, I'm not trying to be a jerk--I'm just trying to understand where you're coming from.
like i said, if they applied previous comic suit methods to that design, it would have looked okay but i still would have preferred something more original. it's VERY faithful to the comic book look but it's a little generic, imo.

as for the manip i did with Bats' head on Johnny Storms body, i did it because i wanted to see what it would have looked like and it ended up looking pretty good at the time, especially because the rumor at the time was that they were using more fabric. however, my personal taste has changed and i would have designed the suit differently......even from the Dark Knight suit. sorry if i confused you.

This pic kind of highlights my problems with the suit - if they'd had made the suit completely out of the material used in the legs, I'd have been a far happier camper.

:o

They did, actually. The legs are neoprene with foam rubber detailing glued on top, just like the rest of the suit. Only the approach they took is different. The torso is just sculpted in such a way that it requires a hell of a lot more foam rubber, and it ends up being a lot thicker and bulkier--and because the chest and shoulders are attached, you get all the buckling and "puffing." The stomach, actually, isn't quite so bad; it seems a lot more like the legs in terms of construction (though it's all angular and lame). The chest and shoulders are the real problem. I also think they (the chest and shoulders, that is) kind of forced Bale's posture to change. If you compare shots of him in the TDK suit and shots of him in the BB suit, he appears to be standing much more naturally in the TDK suit, whereas in the BB suit he always looks like he has a stick up his butt.

Anyways, if they had taken the same approach with the body that they did with the legs--simple, thin, conservative sculpting--it would have been considerably more awesome, especially if they used the organic styling they used on the legs, instead of the more angular look.

i dont understand why so many people like gray on the costume. I just think the darker the better, black beats gray anyday.

the gray is fine because it's been like that forever. it's batman's garb since his existence.

Really? That was my least favorite aspect of the Begins suit. It prevented him from naturally hunching or bending, and when he did bend, the suit creased horribly. This is even evident in the manip you posted, and it happens several times in the film.

Like you said, Bale seems much more natural and comfortable in the new suit, which is a plus.

Seems obvious to me that the first 2 are from one of the promo shoots since those stances have ended up in various other images. The others...probably also promo by the studio. Must be leaks of some sort.
I know what they are, I just want to know where they're from, and if there's a way to find HQ versions.

A better look at the suit from the back, for those interested:

And a bigger version of a previously released pic:

Make black and darker grey version of this in the same manner as the Spider-Man suit, Fantastic Four costumes, or even the Begins suit, and you'd have a pretty killer batsuit.

I won't say that this is better than the TDK suit cuz that's a matter of opinion but I find it sad that a video game can create a batsuit that is still accurate to the comics while adding in some more "realistic" elements. It's what the movie batsuits should have done.

I was rummaging through the old Begins folder and found an image that popped out. Many will remember this as concept art from "The Art of Batman Begins," which shows a different 9and superior) direction that the Begins suit could have gone.

As much as I appreciate the unique approach they've taken to the construction of this suit (though not the aesthetics), I think the Begins suit could still be a viable avenue, if executed a little different. Streamline it, find some way around the bulk and buckling issue (especially in the chest), etcetera.

I always loved this pic. It's just incredibly badass.

no reason other than that it was clearly one piece, and seemingly one of a kind.:whatever:
For something that is "clearly one piece"

... it would seem that Batman hangs up his pants separately when he puts them in his closet.
