The Dark Knight Capes and Cowls - New Batsuit Discussion Thread

It has been confirmed that all of Bruce Wayne's suits were all especially made by Giorgio Armani for the film, the bottom link has quotes by Armani on Bruce along with the Costume Designer of TDK too. The top link is a print advert from the Armani marketing campaign, which will be around this summer, in connection with the film's release. It's definitely worth taking a look at:

Cool! Thanks for posting.

It good to know I'm not alone on seeing the Comcast video of the scars on his back remind me of Alex Ross. When I first saw the video, my mind was saying "They must've got the idea of the look from Alex Ross". :woot: :woot:

tim burtons batman also had scars..
remember the scene when catwoman and bruce are taking each others clothes off and they start feeling up on each others scars?.lol

Can anyone else see how dumb the movie version is
in comparison to the comic?

Why would he have those types of bruses if he is bodyarmored
to the hilt?

You can still bruise if you're armored. The armor absorbs most of the impact, but it can't take all of it. And some of those look like stab wounds. Apparently this sucker won't stop a knife.

Well it certainly is much more realistic than massive slices across his back. I agree though, it seems strange he would incur that much damage with his suit on in a single outing. I can only guess it must be right after whatever happens that causes him to get a new suit.

A year's worth of jumping off rooftops and fighting crime single-handedly will leave some marks eventually..

Yeah,
If I was wearing the armor, and still getting that messed up, I'd be having a talk to Lucius (sic) and his "quality control".

Most of those injuries look like older scars. the pink ones are definately new but should be expected. Bullet proof armor only ripples the blows out over a more even area. If you get shot it's still going to leave a nasty bruise or puncture.

Compared to the few normal bruises he had in Begins, you know he must go through some serious grief.

I love the new suite, it is great because it is actually could be built and worn. It is very similar to alot of the new military armor being built

True, its also quite possible that these bruises are, at least partially, a metaphor of how he's feeling inside right there: bruised and hurt, but holding on.:brucebat:

I actually like that better than the bat symbol we're getting in the movie. Nice job

Armor doesn't protect you 100%, you know? I bet if he was wearing plain suit without armor, he would have more scars & bruises than what we saw. Not to mention he would be in the hospital. :p

Even if you wear a bulletproof vest your still going to get a pretty nasty bruise.

When I first saw that pic I thought that was too much damaged to have occured in one year, maybe even less time. In Begins, you really never saw him get in too much trouble in the hand-to-hand combat scenes, so I'm gonna assume those bruises occured because of the old suit not holding up and the Joker/Mob just really kicking his ass. The scar on his lower right shoulder blade looks like a result of a slice as opposed to a bruise...I don't recall anything in the final sequence of Begins that would've created a cut like that, and even if it happened after the movie, it seems to have been healing for a long time.

There are some bangin' new shots of the suit in the new Comcast trailer.

I like the begins one better actually and i think that it fits better there. But the chest is too empty now. You either unclutter the whole suit, or leave it as it is. I know you re getting started, i just wanna help.

*sings*

This is the thread that doesn't eeeeeeeend...
Yes it goes on and on my frieeeeeeend....

(Just thought I'd pop in :cwink:)

Since it doesn't seem like anyone has, I thought I'd take a moment to post these low quality and grainy shots of the batsuit from the latest trailer =) Suit looks great to me and even though you can't see all the details here it definitely seems like it's much more flattering and shapely in the shadows. This movie looks like it will have that dynamic to it.
