Yeah, but for him to get those kind of cuts and lacerations (they ain't just bruises) the suit would have to be seriously ****ing damaged. As in, parts of it would need total replacement, which would be pretty damn impossible with the one-piece Begins suit.

In real life when armour actually saves you from a shot, it is no longer in a fit state to protect you any more and you replace it, or at least replace the plate that was hit.

And those wounds look like they were made at different times, some are more healed. It's not just from some single event that damaged the Begins armour so that he has to replace it with a new suit.

So, like people have said, it really does make no sense for him to have those kinds of wounds when he's wearing the Begins armour. Bruises and cracked ribs yes, lacerations no - unless he's actually replacing the sull suit after every heavy accident which seems unlikely as it's supposed to be a one-off.

Which is all the more reason for the armour to be piecemeal separate components under an overall unifying outer skin - easy repair, maintenence and replacement of damaged components. While it doesn't have any outer skin, the TDK suit at least makes more sense in this regard - shoulder pad shattered by a bullet? Just replace it.
Dude, may i remind you: This is Bruce Wayne! He ordered 10.000 cowls to avoid suspicion, he bought a whole hotel, he bought his company back, you think he cant afford to buy ten begins suits? Its only 300 grand!

Also, if Bruce really cared about all this stuff, you'd think that he would want a suit with his face covered and an incorporated gas mask! So dont get into those technicalities!

If you wish to avoid the “technicalities” then you don’t need an obviously armored rubber batsuit... which is fine by me.

I justed wanted to post this and whine about how:

1) Batman is under so much light. It should be darker. But mostly:
2) Batman is shorter than Gordon and Dent! Even in the puffy Begins suit, he looks small there! I know its down to Bale (Neeson was double his height! My god!) but they could put heels on the suit (to be taken out whenever they would be visible of course) . GODDAMNIT!

In other words, Batman should look otherworldly there, not like a sorry geek in a halloween costume. I know that in the movie he is gonna be kickass but still, he should be more imposing and fearsome. Judging from this pic Dent could kick his ass!

Simply put - Batman's in the background and Gordon and Dent are in the foreground.

It's so not a problem.

I can see comicbook Wayne having a scarred back from his battles, but you'd think movie Wayne's high-tech padded battle suit would keep him from getting cut and bruised like that.

A high-tech padded battle suit is one thing but it's not exactly adamantium is it?

There's bound to be wear and tear on Bruce's body considering what he goes thorugh on a nightly basis, no matter what he wears.

The suit only lessens the damage.

Yeah. Batman's the tallest. Bale's like 6'1, Oldman's 5'9, and Eckhart's 5'11. Plus, he's got the begins outfit on, so his head looks like it's always leaning forward because of the neck.

I already said the suit was a one-off. He can't buy more. Which is why he needs Fox to make him a new one.

I just don't see what kind of event could give him those injuries, yet leave the suit intact.

it would be funny if the "big dog" mauled the suit LOL

I had a pretty good crash on a bike while back wearing armor. Never broke skin, just had a big bright red hematoma (looked almost like Jell-O) on my knee from the impact but never actually cut or bled. When the hematoma finally heeled it left a scar in it's place.

Second the the Begins suit IS sectional, you can see that the first time Lucius pulls it from the drawer when it's painted. If it is damaged, a piece could be replaced.

How do you know that the suit is intact? How do you know that since he took up being a vigilante he didnt order Fox to make 10 more just in case? I suppose you think that batman never pees, because we obviously never saw him use the bathroom in BB.

anybody else think its really lame that the begins suit is always looking downwards? to look up, he would have to tilt his whole back backwards. I'm happy they changed that in the TDK suit.

Nah, he'd have ridiculous muscles, no elbows, a zillion pouches, a crooked grapple gun, and his feet would be hidden if Liefeld designed it.

Haha, it's true. He'd just have stumps at the end. Oh and you forgot "extra fingers".

Maybe it's just me but in the clip of the "break in" I did notice Bale being able to turn his head and move more easily in this suit. You don't see him once having to turn or shift his body to adjust his sight. I think with the way the fight scenes are being shot this time around this costume makes more sense to have. With a restricted costume it would probably make Bale fighting look rediculous in these fight scenes where you can see a lot more of what's going on.

on his utility belt, what are those two box like things on the sides, I know the cylander shaped things probably have the flash powder bombs, but what do those two box-likes do?

I think that the cylinders contain the line that he uses for the grapple gun. The boxes are just pouches i think.

Condom holders.

I believe they hold some of his batarangs. We see him bend one in half when he pick some up in BB. With how he fold it, it make sense he put it in the box part of the belt. :)

am i the only one that is slightly annoyed that the cape is way darker than the costume?

No, you're not. I wish they'd just fix that during post-production or something. It looks so off when Batman has on 4 different shades of black.

It does look a bit strange, but I prefer it to the contrast seen in Begins between a matt black suit and a brownish, velvety cape.

The cowl is now black, so it matches the cape. In begins the whole suit was somewhere between black and grey so the cape was the only thing black on him.

Not to mention the ridiculous 'amateur boxing'- style headgear, knee and shoulder pads.

And about a gazillion teeth.
