So, in the new clips...he's not really moving any faster or better than he did during BEGINS. I'm not seeing how this suit helps his mobility.

What scenes from BB are you comparing the clip with? Because in BB, they made him seem mobile via editting. In this clip, there were significantly fewer cuts.
I do miss the velvet cape.
I thought he looked good in that new fight scene, if you can really call it that. I mean those guys clearly didn't stand a chance. But it was nice to be able to see what's happening and Bale definitely did have more head movement.
Yes but he couldnt move his head around. His torso couldnt bend how he wanted it (without much physical effort from the wearer and the torso bending and losing its supposed shape) and generally he now moves fluidly. Did you expect him to turn into the Flash? What are you? ******ed or something? Dont you know who this is?I don't really care. What I care about is what I see. The scene where he's fighting the ninjas before he boards the monorail, he's clearly fighting quickly and efficiently, be it due to editing tricks or an actually mobile suit (behind the scenes shots suggest it is mostly an actually mobile suit/stuntman). You can see the fight, you can see that Batman is moving quickly, and it looks very real.

It does look a bit strange, but I prefer it to the contrast seen in Begins between a matt black suit and a brownish, velvety cape.
In BB, Bale wasn't quite ready and the suit wasn't comfortable. Batman needs to appear fast. Solution? Editing and close-ups. Expense? You can't always make out what's happening.
Relax, i am joking! (goddamn batman meme).Whether he can move his head or torso is irrelevant to me, because in BATMAN BEGINS, he looks like he can fight with the best of them. By the way: Grow up. And learn to read things in context.
All I said was that he's not moving any faster or better than he did in BEGINS. I'm not saying it doesn't look good.
I can. So can many others. Can you see the entire fight? No, but you can see key pieces of it very clearly. And by the time he gets to Arkham, you can tell exactly what's going on.
"Working Through Pain"....refresh my memory. So now that Gotham Knight is... out there to be seen, I've got to say that there are elements of some of the various Batman designs that are really cool (I want toys of them all, even the kid's interpretations from the first piece).
Some of the suit designs have details that weren't really visible in the trailers and promo stills.
The Batman in "Working Through Pain" has a really cool bodysuit that looks like tough material with some decorative piping sewn in. The most Begins-like design has some really cool looking gloves. All of them basically take the comic or movie designs or both and just add that bit of extra detail to make it look more real. A couple have definite eye-lenses.
Batman looks spooky and scary and mysterious in most of them, much moreso than in Nolan's films.
Anyway, I just thought it was cool that a lot of the aspects of teh designs are ideas that have been bandied around here over the years. Live-action Batsuit designers could deo well to take a look at some of those designs.
"Working Through Pain"....refresh my memory.
I do love the suit in the segment with Killer Croc and Scarecrow. Basically a simpler, more streamlined version of the Begins suit. Superior cape and cowl, too.
Could you snag a picture of it?The one with the Indian flashbacks. The suit has a blue-ish cape and cowl.
The costume design in the last part is the most faithful (well, probably as faithful as the one in the first part) and the one I like the best but the rest all have cool elements, but the "Working through pain" costume just has a really cool bodysuit that would translate well to film, though it's hard to see the details when they're in shadow.
Also, remember how he run in that Arkham corridor? It was fine i guess, but i bet that he couldnt run any faster without
a) running like a cripple, thus looking weird
b) run just fine but because he bended the chest and abs in order to run
Key pieces of a fight is a compromise I thought I didn't need when watching a film that features action. So, seeing all the action is de facto a step up for
me.
In Arkham you can tell what's going on (it's the best real fight scene because of that), but then, with the 4 LoS goons and Ra's himself, I lost track again.
He looks about the same as he did in BATMAN BEGINS. Which is fine.
So what you re saying is that since you dont like the suit, the suit that will be faithfull enough to your tastes will come at the fourth movie (Nolan intends to do 3). Dude, this is the suit they wanted to give batman. They didnt make it intentionally bad because its an interim solution. While TDK suit seems more flexible, we don't know if its a prototype test suit of a better suit Lucius is designing. We know the Begins suit wasn't designed exactly for what Batman needs, but it served its purpose, this TDK suit could just be a temp fix for Batman until a better designed suit is completed...all I'm saying is there are still alot of things that are unknown. For all we know Fox could tell Bruce "this isn't exactly what you wanted, but it'll do until I can finish the next suit". Just for his ability to move his head alone is now sufficent for me to accept a suit change.
Its clear that you enjoyed the fights in BB and that you wont change your mind. But since most people in here didnt get what was going on in those scenes, i think that you should reconsider.Irrelevant. Bale runs weird anyway. Witness the dock scene and ANY movie he's ever run in.
The reason you only saw key pieces was not because Nolan was trying to cover up the suit's flaws. It was because that's simply how the man edits many of his fight scenes. Witness INSOMNIA.
I can tell just fine what's going on with him and the ninjas. It's crysal clear, and really not that hard to make out as it happens onscreen.
