I really liked the batsuit in this movie and thought it looked really cool. It was certainly better than the one in Begins which was also an awesome costume.

The person I was talking to presented that link because one of the comments claims that additional Tumblers were built for the production of TDK--whether or not new Tumblers were built for the film is the subject we were discussing, and my response was about the misinformation included in the comment in question.

Again: we were not talking about the fan-made Tumbler.

Yeah.... I'm not too sure about the lenses yet. It's good to know for absolute sure whether or not they're actually in the movie. They do look a little too round for my liking.

Actually somewhat similar to a manip I did a while back.

Make the eyes a tad narrower and add some more definition in the torso and arms, and this is BatmanIII

the new cape, grey duotone and silver belt look great.

4 actual Tumblers (not counting the 6 1/12 scale models and other shot-specific non functional cars) were built for Batman Begins, each costing 250.000 dollars.

For some reason, the WB guys in charge of the Bat-Pod/Tumbler display in Toronto told us that a Tumbler was worth 2.2 millions. Even if they were talking in Canadian dollars, it's still a lot more than 250.000 USD...

"Worth" and "cost" are two different things.
It cost $250,000.00 to make the functional Tumblers.
It's worth whatever someone has offered for the finished product. I would assume that someone has offered them the $2.2 mil for one, or it has been apprasied for auction for that much.

ONe thing to keep in mind between the BB suits and the TDK suits;
The BB suit was basically cobbled together by Wyane himself. He took the survival suit, added the cowl stuff he ordered from overseas, mangled the belt Fox gave him, etc.
The TDK suit was put together by Fox, an engineer/inventor/whatever, with unity of function in mind.
With that in mind, I would have to say that from a functionality standpoint, the TDK suit was better.

I like both BB and TDK suits, but I prefer the BB cowl and I don't like the new suit's shoulder pads. While the new suit is more functional than the BB suit, the BB suit looks more menacing and has more of an animal quality to it. That's when Christian Bale is wearing it obviously. He looks way more badass under the BB suit than on the TDK suit. I also prefer the batsign on the BB suit than the TDK suit.

I wonder - has anyone thought to create a manip of the BB suit with the TDK cowl?

What would the BB suit look like with the TDK slimmer neck?

it was like i was expecting. we didnt see all the detail of the TDK suit in hte movie.the neck was not so skinny like in the promo pics.

but in the BB suit he looked more like a monster. i

I love the returns suit. It's my second all time fav. It's got all the elements that I love in a batsuit, sleekness, longer ears, the emblem, and the armor is pretty badass. But the reason the TDK fall into number one is it looks like what a batsuit should: Threatening and aggresssive.

I almost guarantee you that would look stupid as **** in real life.

If made out of Spider-Man-esque materials (perhaps with some mild layering for those armour panels; something to give it some interesting texture) it would probably look great. A thinner bodysuit means you'd also need a thinner cowl, so a solution besides rubber might be necessary.

At this point, though, as much as dislike the over-the-top armour approach, something like this would be aesthetically and stylistically incongruous with the current films. I feel like we may have been backed into a corner where anything that strays too far from the established approach is going to look out of place in a third film. If Nolan had started with an approach closer to a Spider-Man suit (or to some of the suggestions in this thread), well it would have been fine. But now the approach the batsuit is solidified to the point where a drastic change like this will just won't follow.

I think the best we can hope for is a redesign using the same fundamentals of the TDK suit, executed in a more faithful manner.

It's not necessary . The Batsuit if prefect just the way it is . You know their really isn't anyway to really please you people . You always have to find or nitpick about something wrong.
