Civil War Captain America: Civil War - Early Tweet Discussion Thread (NO SPOILERS) - Part 1

The comparison between BvS and Civil War is apt. Civil War succeeds because it incorporates characters to provide comic relief to go alongside it's more stoic heroes. BvS did not have that. It also succeeds by letting 10 other movies tell it's background and develop it's characters. BvS only had one other movie to set things up.

I believe that once more DCEU films are released, BvS will be looked back at with a more forgiving eye.

Civil War is not perfect. BvS is not awful. Civil War will get better reviews because it has more levity and 10 other movies to help develop the plot and it's characters.

I'm not going to let BvS off the hook that easily. The lead up to their fight is lazy and ridiculous. "The Bat is dead, bury it" and "Do you bleed"? is hardly riveting stuff or anything that builds tension heading towards their showdown. You don't need 10 movies to make something better than that.

Guys we should really keep this about Civil War. Cuz its gonna turn into another DC vs Marvel debate.

CW is getting better reviews, nay great reviews because it's a fantastic movie that deftly juggles a dozen plus characters and switches effortlessly between different moods. It manages to be a great Cap movie, a great Iron movie and a great Avengers movie while introducing two new main characters to the universe. There's drama, action, humor, emotional resonance and political substance. The writing is great and the acting is top notch. It' a "marvel".

Is it more enjoyable because it came on the back of 7 or 8 other movies, yes, but it's strong enough to also work as a stand alone. Marvel though deserves tons of credit for waiting to make this movie when they made it so that it wouldn't be a half cocked mess with poor containerization and motives.

Folks - no Marvel vs. DC debates. Keep it on topic, please.

Has Grace Randolph reviewed Civil War?

At the time she was going on that tirade on twitter she hadn't seen the movie. That and her accusing other critics of being paid off is what made the whole thing so galling.

I hope no cw fans, marvel fan or even dc fan becomes this guy
This guy mustve lost his mind in the last 3 weeks

I actually thought it'd be one of those guys who presents logical facts and arguements and prove how Grace Randolph is kinda DC biased (considering she was fired from Marvel, recieved gifts from WB etc)....there's videos like that out there for other topics.

Nope it's just....whatever that is..

Ha I reported it (as well as many others probably)
Have you read the past few pages here about the Grace Randolph twitter arguement? If you go back and then look at her twitter you'll see the rubbish she's talking about.

Essentially, this guy was agreeing with her but going much further by s**tting on Marvel fans, blaming them for BvSs failure, critics are paid by Disney, Marvel movies are nothing etc...all the while obnoxiously playing the BvS soundtrack.
The youtube comments were (as usual) also scummy and in all captail letters and agreeing with him.

Actually it's good it's gone. He shouldn't get any attention for it.

EDIT: It's not gone? I can still play it. Bummer.

I saw someone start ranting about how all the critics who trashed BvS deserved to get cancer, and when people with brains started calling him out he just kept doubling down and insisting there wasn't wrong with that. Fanboyism + the internet is not always the greatest combination. I'm not trying to say it's only DC stans either bc I've seen that level of OTTness from all sides, but it's just crazy to me. At the end of the day a movie isn't worth wishing death or cancer on somebody.

Also his responses on the youtube comments section are horribly juvenile and homophobic.

Well said:up:

That guy will change his tune when civil war comes out. It gets compared to Bvs because of the subject matter and civil war handled just about everything better.

im staying away from alot of threads but saw colliders spoiler free review and they are absolutely gushing about this movie.

The Collider people are my go-to folks when it comes to everything movies. So I was thrilled to see that they enjoyed it.

As someone who has a family member who got cancer, it really pissed me off to see ignorant fanboys using it to curse people who disagree with them or dislike their movie.

Captain America Civil War will knock you out. It's massive in every sense of the word

Captain America: Civil War - approximately 37 times better than Batman V Superman.

Captain America: Civil War is very good but quite frustrating as isn't quite the 'game changer' to the Marvel universe I was expecting.
Appreciate they want storylines to carry into next films but some sense of resolution would be nice. #TeamCap #CaptainAmerica #CivilWar

Captain America: Civil War is a knockout. Emotionally involving and consistently thrilling. Quite brilliant.

Captain America: Civil War is one hell of a film! The 3D added absolutely nothing though.

Captain America: Civil War is a bit brilliant. Spider-Man & Black Panther = amazing. Cap & Iron Man = all the feels.

For once I was very impressed with a 3D IMAX screening, highly recommend it. Didn't feel dizzy once #CaptainAmericaCivilWar

The mid film punch up between everybody is fantastic, I want to watch #CaptainAmericaCivilWar again for that scene alone

Loved Scarlet Witch and the Vision in this too. The directors manage the even bigger ensemble cast brilliantly #CaptainAmericaCivilWar

*Loved* Captain America but it is less Civil War and more Scrap In An Airport.

Helen O'Hara ‏@HelenLOHara
It should surprise no one that I enjoyed the hell out of #CivilWar. Hilarious, emotional, extremely punchy. #TeamCap obvs.

Still on #CivilWar, Spider-Man, Ant-Man and Vision are delightful. Black Panther is more serious but fascinating.

Matthew turner is with ViewLondon, rt critic. Helen Ohara is with gqmagazine. Another rt critic.
