Endgame Captain America/Steve Rogers - Chris Evans

You're mixing in photos from centuries of wars there, bit misleading...I was talking specifically about what we picture as a 'WWII soldier'

Hell, when they were actually in war, yeah, I'm sure they had bigger concerns than shaving, but it's not the image the comes to mind when you hear 'World War II'... we usually picture clean-cut men with nicely pressed uniforms when off duty, and slightly stubbly grizzled men in the trenches

and regardless, I just don't care for it on Cap... too trendy

Eh... It obviously wasn't done to be trendy but like Natasha's blond hair indicate that Cap's team are on the run.

And it's an alternate look which is common enough for super heroes. They always revert to a more classic styling. For me it's no biggie. I enjoy different styling safe in the knowledge that a return to form is always around the corner.

To be clear three of those images are from WWII. And that all of them show from different eras military men with beards it proves that such a thing is in fact not merely a recent development.

Y'all Crazy
-The beard never felt right to me for Cap, Military Men + beards wasn't really a thing until the modern hipster era... he's not a lumberjack, he's an old school, gentlemanly-type
-The helmet is iconic, looks great, and strengthens his jaw-line, and its also the only really functional part of his costume... it annoys me how often he goes without it while wearing the rest of the costume... full civvies or full costume please

This is a superhero movie not a fashion show, I like my characters lookin as close to the comics as possible
I love his helmet in the comics - I just don’t think the one they made for film looks that good on Evans. In Avengers 1 he looked great without it and a bit of a dweeb with it on. I understand the reservation about a beard for a military guy but it worked well for the film where he was in hiding and off the books. It makes sense for it to be a one and done appearance.

Also I read a lot of Cap with protruding wings on his helmet as a young kid and it’s something I massively prefer. It’s a shame we never got that. The wings are the most iconic thing about the helmet to me, and secondary only to his shield when it comes to my ideal look for Cap.

It's definitely the best of those modern post-Russos-first-attempt suits. Still hate all the random overly-busy red highlights, but at least Joss made the colors pop more than the Russos' versions of it do. The white arms are nice for once too.

Still, The First Avenger one all the way. Loved that paratrooper vibe Johnston & team concocted, not ideal for the modern stuff but still that perfect middle ground between classic & "believable". For my money that's still hands-down the most iconic "Cap" shot of the whole MCU, too frickin' great.

Even unironically dig the classic/USO costume too, it actually looks pretty good in the movie-within-a-movie moment in North Africa by that tank.

The head-wings (raised/ornamental, 3D) are always something I've missed, sort of thought they'd put 'em on the modern costume back with Avengers 1, even if it made sense they wouldn't work in Johnston's movie. Seems they could make them work if they wanted to. That ship's long sailed by now though.

Absolutely! I know it's not a popular opinion, but AOU is still one of my favorite MCU movies. This costume design really stands out!

They could've ditched the red piping, but the White sleeves are just so clutch, they break up all that monotonous blue on the [almost-as-good] Civil War and Stealth suits

And the classic WWII suits were all great for the purposes they served, but going more form fitting yet still tactical was the way to go... the later suits all took the best elements from each of the WWII suits to make something damn near perfect

"Tactical" always makes me laugh so hard. He's still running around in a bright-colored unarmored flag-suit, S.H.I.E.L.D. costume aside, there's nothing "tactical" about 'em. And there doesn't need to be, it's all fantasy.

The TWS stealth suit is still my favorite as well and I'm really glad that it looks like Steve is going to wear it for at least a short period of time in Endgame.

it's just too blue
it's a great Steve Rogers look, but it isn't "Captain America" to me

The stealth suit is great, but not my favorite. I like my Cap to look more like the Captain America I grew up reading. Not The Captain Steve Rogers version from the newer era I care less about. Give me Captain America Classic any day of the week.

I'm glad to hear he's very centric to the plot in Endgame. I was so pissed he got shortchanged in Infinity War. I just wish we had gotten a 2min scene of Cap, Nat and Falcon doing "Secret Avengers" stuff before they got the notice to go rescue Vision/Wanda.

But of course that would have killed the intense celebration when he entered the screen for the first time in Edinburgh.

I like the Age of Ultron and Civil War suits. They are never perfect to me. I don't get why he can't have stripes go all the way around the torso and the back has no stripes.

I'm fine with the way they went with the masks/helmets, but I always wish they could've been better.

Was never a big fan of the First Avenger suit. Honestly, I preferred the USO touring costume :D

If they ever do reboot this stuff (they won;t, they'll Bond it guaranteed), I'd really want them to give a serious shot at the classic one. It looks pretty cool in the USO stuff in TFA design wise, just make it out of less laughable stuff and keep the headwings, sure they could make something of it.

I see a purple blur in the background. Looks like a stand off against Thanos there.
