Endgame Captain America/Steve Rogers - Chris Evans

I don't want Cap to die. But I would love if he's last man standing in a fight against Thanos. He cannot"win" in that kind of confrontation but that's not the point. It doesn't matter. He will fight regardless.

I think what may happen is, Cap will be the last man standing and this very thing will happen. Then we will get a shocker moment like Quicksilver in AoU where he is spared at the last moment.

I'm still thinking the one we're losing is Iron Man.

When you have Chipotle for lunch...

Poor Cap, going to die without ever having consummated...Bucky, Sharon, whoever.

It's definitely the best of those modern post-Russos-first-attempt suits. Still hate all the random overly-busy red highlights, but at least Joss made the colors pop more than the Russos' versions of it do. The white arms are nice for once too.

Still, The First Avenger one all the way. Loved that paratrooper vibe Johnston & team concocted, not ideal for the modern stuff but still that perfect middle ground between classic & "believable". For my money that's still hands-down the most iconic "Cap" shot of the whole MCU, too frickin' great.

Even unironically dig the classic/USO costume too, it actually looks pretty good in the movie-within-a-movie moment in North Africa by that tank.

The head-wings (raised/ornamental, 3D) are always something I've missed, sort of thought they'd put 'em on the modern costume back with Avengers 1, even if it made sense they wouldn't work in Johnston's movie. Seems they could make them work if they wanted to. That ship's long sailed by now though.
One thing I've never understood, why does he stop using a gun after The First Avenger?

Looks like we get Steve fighting Thanos 1 on 1

Yeah, gotta admit I wouldn't mind seeing Cap use a weapon again at times. In a way I'm glad they stop him carying a sidearm, make a distinction between his war days and now, but The Avengers pretty succinctly illustrated his moral compass there. Steve's not above picking up a discarded weapon, take a dead dude's piece or rip it from his hands in a close-quarters fight and let fly.

Not like it'd do a whole lot against these uber-aliens or robots we've gotten in every movie since (always wished we got a bit more breathing space post-Avengers with the alien stuff, go a couple phases with just pure earth-based stuff, leave more time before all the Thanos shiz kicks off - the more slightly-more-grounded Cap/Widow/Clint stories the better, we never really got to see a whole lot of that), but it's admittedly a little odd he hasn't so much as touched once since The Avengers.

Really love the start of the montage in TFA where he's first gearing up, those close shots of the pistol and the tommygun on the bike, preparing the shield yadda yadda. Usually get that type of thing in superhero movies, used to pre-MCU anyway.

Looking back on previous Movies, Cap really has had quite the adventure. Even appreciate his first movie more after time has passed. It really did establish what kind of person he is and what he's all about. Things have changed with time, but he hasn't changed far from the guy who'd jump on a grenade to save other people. Things have just gotten more intense and extreme with time.

Will be nice if as expected he gets a much more key focus in Endgame. If he survives while stepping back from the spotlight that's fine. Be happy to see the guy who could just never stop fighting find some normalcy in his life for the first time since before WW2. But if he goes out then I'm sure it will be in a way worthy of his legacy.

Liked a lot of characters as the MCU picked up and when growing up with comics/cartoons. But MCU Captain America really has become one of my favorite superheroes. Not always the most powerful character, but someone who does stick to what he thinks is right.

Have been reading all the spoilers, just thought of coming here. No matter what, Cap still had the best superhero trilogy (yes, it's slightly better than nolan's Dark Knight series too).

Gotta disagree with you there chief. Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy was about the Dark Knight himself all the way thru and I still hold The Dark Knight as the best superhero film of all time, whereas Cap's trilogy hasn't really been all about him. Let me explain, Winter Soldier is his best film, and it's my favorite Marvel movie to date. However, Civil War was essentially Avengers 2.5 and more about the trio of Bucky, Tony and Cap and not really a Captain America movie. First Avenger wasn't a strong opening for Cap, sure Chris Evans shined in his debut but it wasn't critically as well received at Batman Begins (box office was pretty much the same for both films, but TFA had a larger budget) and had more weaknesses as Batman Begins.

That's your opinion man, and you're allowed to feel that way... no need to go callin people "chief"
Some people, myself included, thought the Nolan/Dark Knight trilogy was uneven
And that Cap's trilogy, despite heavily featuring the Avengers in the third film, was still a better whole story and a better arc for the character than what Nolan presented
But that's an argument for the "Superhero Civil War" Thread

so get that "chief" s**t outta here, lol

I have been in this Cap 3 debate before, but in summary it is a Cap film featuring the Avengers in supporting/antagonistic roles. But it is a Captain America film.

So basically we'll get the plot of Monkey vs Rasslor.

Been thinking a bit about that " current-timeline Cap dies in a first-act throwdown with Thanons & the outriders, they eventually somehow get Avengers 1 Cap back through the quantum realm & bring him up to speed" theory someone threw out there recently.

Really warming to that as a possibility, think that could be pretty fresh & fun. Not really expecting it though, unless that shot in the teaser with them all suited up in the space suits isn't the first time they travel through.
