Action-Adventure Captain Planet----Live Action

Wonder if it'll be "dark" "serious" and "real"...

It has to be, no fun is allowed in cinema these days.

It can be kind of tongue in cheek but still be played kind of straight.

I'm guessing more absurd global warming/climate change propaganda is on the way.

Dark n' gritty Captain Planet facing up against Captain America. :hehe:

Nah, both sucked, but Wall-E actually tried to insult me.

I enjoy when news like this comes out. When you know that in a few years you will be seeing giant billboards with a dark and gritty Captain Planet played by some hot up and coming actor.

Its fun to sit back and watch these things happen. It is very "the future" :P

Yup. Happy Feet was kiddie stuff all the way, so I could see it coming a mile away. Wall-E is another beast altogether.

I actually think trying to insert these "deep thematic elements" in a goofy kiddie movie just made it even stupider.

I'm fully aware of what a ridiculous leftist propaganda machine Hollywood in general is, but good Lord, atleast save that stuff for a film not intended for 5 year olds (then again, gotta brainwash 'em while they're young).

I Hope this movie will be like The cartoon version , only if they dont make major change in characters .

This could easily be something like a horror comedy. Five kids find five mysterious rings, accidentally summon the force of nature known as Captain Planet, but they think he's some kind of monster at first. Then they realize he's actually on their side and they use his help to defeat whatever villain comes along to threaten the planet.

Think about it, Sony...

Yeah, because it's all a myth propagated by 97 percent of active climate scientists! I'm sure you're much more knowledgeable on the subject than they are.

Where does Gaia come in?

I have to admit I'm a fan of the old cartoon series & if done correctly with good cast & script Captain Planet hopefully will be a fun movie.

There is some great characters from that show especially the villains who seemed to need a stronger superhero to battle namely Verminous Skumm & Duke Nuken.

Staying with the villains the film the producers will likely go with basic/entertaining story so that makes me think villain wise Sly Sludge or Looten Plunder.

Verminous Skumm is my fav baddie & Jeff Goldblum who voiced him brilliantly can easily lend his acting skills if offered the films villain role.

Skumm along with Nukem & Greedily are more mutant like than say Sludge or Plunder & perhaps too big for 1st film.

Out of all the villains who would folk like to see 1st?

Verminous Skumm
Sly Sludge
Duke Nukem
Hoggish Greedily
Looten Plunder
Dr Blight

They'd prolly give us one human genius and one mutant.

Genius - Looten Plunder & Mutant - Verminous Skumm.

I just hope they are developed well to translate on the big screen.

Just have to wait and see what happens next.
