Cartoon Network Announces 'DC Nation' Programming For 2012 Season

Television will be getting an extra dose of the DC Universe next year, thanks to Cartoon Network and Warner Bros. Animation.

During today's Cartoon Network upfront presentation, the network announced plans for on-air and online "DC Nation" programming in 2012, described as a mix of "event programming, interstitials, exclusive behind-the-scenes of theatrical production and an insider look into the world of all things DC."

Interesting, hopefully it works out.

Thats great. Still wish they would produce a WW animated series/

Sound like a great idea. It would be nice if it was up in time for TDKR and Supes.

I dont really get it. What is this, like Entertainment Tonight for DC or what?

Yeah that is what it sounds like, mixed in with GL and Thundercats being apart of the Block, which makes you wonder what about Young Justice?

I was hoping this was going to be a cartoon featuring adventures of the entire DC Universe. :(

Its an entire block of DC animation. Not bad.

No. Its just DC animated shows...YJ, BATB, GL, another new show and probably some old ones like JL/JLU.

Probably a new Supes cartoon once Man of Steel hits.

God i hope so, been so long since theres been a superman cartoon. i dont really count justice league as a superman cartoon.

This is cool, hopefully they'll be playing more Brave and The Bold. I missed so many episodes because CN never replays their shows.

Disney XD is also going to be launching a Marvel programming block in early 2012 as well.

So, I wonder, after Young Justice and GL, what else DC animation will have to offer....

DC Nation isn't better than the Zulu Nation. Afrika Bambaataa>Batman!

....

Okay I just had to do that. Anyways, sounds like a solid plan. I like Young Justice, and I'm really looking forward tot he GL cartoon.

I want Toonami back, but this doesn't sound bad.

Is it me or does America still see Marvel as the #!, and DC as the #2? How I view it...

Wrong. America still sees Batman as #1 and everything else as #2. :o

Seeing as how they made it a point to include Blue Beetle in the DC Nation sizzle reel, I wonder if Cartoon Network or Warner Bros are really going to pursue anything with the live-action Blue Beetle.

I suspect it will be mostly interstitials
