Cast a real game-based Resident Evil movie (just for fun)

Watch The Big Hit (hell, just watch the first half hour when they take out that crime lord) and tell me that isn't Chris Redfield. Besides, Wahlberg is twice the actor Milo is. If you don't believe that, watch The Departed

then you can watch the Happening, and tell me how great an actor Wahlberg is.

i did love the big hit, though. one of the best movies that no one has ever seen, ever.

Besides your choice for Rebecca, it's a great list Johnny.

The Happening was clearly just his pay check movie. I can let the crappy performance slide on the grounds of being a Shamylan movie. :cwink:

Darn tootin'.

I think it would be really cool if Resident Evil 1 and 2 were woven together into a single film. If not, the first 3 games would translate nicely into a film trilogy

I actually think game 2 and 3 interwoven would work better.

For RE: 1

Chris Redfeild - Josh Duhamel

Get rid of Biel and McCaughnehey and I'd understand it.

Yeah, I agree. Though I can also see the argument for not even adapting Nemesis. It really doesn't add all that much to the over-all plot. The nuclear destruction of Raccoon City can be incorporated into the plot of RE2. Nemesis has always seemed to be a useless side-story in my opinion. Resident Evil 2, has always been, imo, the scariest of the games. Nemesis on the other hand felt more action oriented. It would be like switching back and forth between a very tense horror movie and an action flick. I say film RE2 as its own movie, then move onto Code Veronica combined with the final two chapters of UC to complete the trilogy.

Wasn't it at the end?
It's been a while sine I played it, but wasn't that explosion on the train at the end part of the Raccoon City nuke?

Eh, I think the Nikolai story was more interesting in RE3, but I was never a big fan of RE3 anyway. I think the unofficial books of the games handled it well of Leon, Claire, Jill, etc being in Raccoon City at the same time.

I never played UC. Does it really add much to the story? Or is it just made for $$$?

No, that was the Umbrella lab blowing up.

Nikolai was a cool character, but hasn't been used since, so how important is he? Just seemed like a poor man's Wesker, then they decided to bring Wesker back so they dropped him.

Well, it lets you play through Chris and Jill's (and Wesker's) final assault on Umbrella. Beef up the story a little bit and it will be golden.

Well, with how intricate the games are, I'm sure Nikolai can fit in somewhere else down the line.

Sounds a bit like one of the books.

This would be my cast. Just click on the picture to find bigger versions of the pictures.

Who would you say is a miss cause personally (for obvious reasons) I think my cast is pretty much spot on.

Some characters would be played by people a little older than their game counterpart but that is only because I feel it makes the character more realistic to be in their mid 20s or early 30s than in their late teens or early 20s.

Some of your choices looks like you just got the the best actor that resembles the videogame counterpart.

Hayden is a very uninspired choice.
Paul Walker and Cole Hauser are terrible actors, and therefore terrible choices.

I really can't stand when people say that. Familiarity with the actors work is what my cast list is made up of, not Google Image search. Of course resemblence is a factor BUT previous roles the actors have had (that I have personally seen) that share a lot of similar traits with the character is what I made my final decisions on.

Like Richard Burgi. Been a fan of his since his show The Sentinel. I enjoyed his run on 24 and he is pretty much the only good thing about the extremely bad Starship Troopers sequel.

I'd seen Owain Yeoman and Alexander Skarsgård in films and tv before but when I saw them in HBO's Generation Kill they blew me away and changed my old choices to them.

Ashley is a run of the mill young female character added to RE4 just to give Leon something to do in the game. What actress should have been picked for what is arguably one of the series most bland and "uninspired" characters?

Walker is ok and Hauser is really good and both are far from terrible in my opinion. And considering we are talking about casting a genre movie based on a game with zombies, that was inspired by B movies with zombies, and one character is from an easily forgettable side game and the other has little to no screen time I don't exactly see why I would be trying to find people you consider "good" to play those parts when I already think the people I've picked would do just fine.
