"Resident Evil Begins"- Movie Franchise Reboot

I will praise whatever deity necessary if they reboot the Resident Evil series.

In order to get good films? I believe we may need the entire Greek AND Egyptian Pantheons combined.

If it's a reboot starting from the beginning of game 1, it's best not to look for actors that look like RE5 Chris

I highly doubt that really matters. They will probably go for RE5 Chris's look if they can

It'd be more believable to do RE5 Chris from the start than go the game route of just making him all jacked suddenly.

I'm more playing with him in as Wesker's stunt double (which, again, I said he's probably too "big" of a name now to do that again) since, sure, you can teach people some roundhouses, but you can't just toss in any actor or stuntman and have him fight as fluidly and as brutally as Wesker does. Also, again, if you'd read my post, you'd see I clearly stated, "If someone can pull a good performance out of him".

For one, Ray Park is well-respected in both the martial arts and the stunts communities. For two, you'd be shocked at how hard it is to get guys who don't have that kind of training- especially adult males who have never done that kind of thing- to begin throwing pretty kicks or fight as beautifully as Wesker does in the fifth game. For three- there's also nothing stopping whatever choreographer that jumps in board from making a more badass fighter out of Wesker than what we've seen in the games.

It worked fine for the Matrix and Bourne Movies and I'd rather not have the new Movies follow into the footsteps of Resident Evil 5. Once you add too much action, all the horror goes out the window. There are also several ways and styles available, to make someone a good fighter, without throwing in fancy and complicated moves, that are nothing but eye candy.

And no ifs or buts about someone maybe being able to pull a good performance out of him and justifying your reasoning. I haven't missed it. It was just a suggestion, but it was a bad casting call to even play with the idea.

How about we simply ignore all jacked Chris?

We could I suppose, I'd prefer him to not be totally scrawny like he was in the RE and the RE remake though.

Not being on roids doesn't mean you're scrawny. Of course he should be fit, but he shouldn't be punching boulders around. If someone needs to be buff, it should be Barry.

I'm fine with the build Eric Mabius had in the first Movie. I still think he would've been a good Chris Redfield.

Not if they're smart

I would say something to the regards of 'They're not', but honestly speaking, I don't really think it's that big of a deal, either. I wasn't a huge fan of his look in RE5 myself, but overall, that's a pretty superficial deal anyway

That's all fight choreography is in movies anyway- eye candy. Half the moves you see aren't practical at all. Second, I'm all for going with the more horror-oriented aspects more similar to the first few Resident Evils (I actually kind of dislike how warped and zany the series has become), but I've got no doubt in my mind that the first thing the director's going to want to do is use that aspect of Wesker, should he show up in the movie. Now that I know that Anderson is on board, I'd bet money that it's what we'll see out of the character.

If I had my choice, I'd like to see a truly scary movie that uses real horror elements instead of just simply using the loud noises in quiet situations that the first film lamely and only used.

Whatever, dude, you're just reading way too much into what I was saying.

Resident Evil Begins?

Really? Really?

Yeah, I thought that too. I'm hoping they change the name to it, depending on the plot.

I knew Batman Begins was a big deal, but c'mon.

I remember reading about the rumored Duke Nukem prequel called...Duke Begins.

I wish people stopped trying to be Batman. I mean, understand. Batman is cool. Very cool. But, c'mon.

Aside from the Batman Begins wanna be gripe, I'm more than fine with a reboot that would include actual characters from the game. I'd be very happy with Leon if he got in on it.

Not really. You've expressed that you wouldn't mind Ray Park if someone gets a good performance out of him and I simply said it would still be a bad idea.

If anything, you were kinda over-defensive of your opinion. And now this has honestly gone on way too long. So we both are gonna let it die.

Um... Yes, sir?

Thanks for putting words in my mouth. I said it was an idea. Not that I was bent on seeing it, nor that I would mind it. At best- again- I said I'd be more inclined to see him as the stunt double.

And I just said the thought alone was bad. Doesn't matter if it's just an idea. People can still voice their opinion on said idea. So why the heck is this still going on?

Next time I word it better. "That doesn't seem like such a sound idea good sir."

Why is this thread still in the games section?

If the title was "Resident Evil Begins" - Game Franchise Reboot, it would make sense.
