Okay. Kraven seems to be pretty unique among villains in that there is no consensus over who should play him, but we keep seeing the same names getting thrown around. So, I present to all of you a poll with the most oft-suggested potential Kraven actors, in reverse-alphabetical order along with pictures of them at their most Kravenesque.

If Sony could get either Gerard Butler, Daniel Day-Lewis or Javier Bardem for "Kraven The Hunter," it would be phenomenal.

This is going to sound absolutely nuts and he might be too old but I don't think there really is an age limit on the character as long as it is within reason which I think this choice is... anyways, Pierce Brosnan

Based on what? I thought he handled Bond pretty well which shows that he can handle action films... plus for some reason he just looks like Kraven to me (if you add the leopard skin etc.)

For instance: http://marvellegends.net/SpiderMan/Individuals/SMC6Kraven.jpg
Oh come on, we were casting Kraven so well. Why is it that someone always sits on an odd choice of an actor. That guy is too pretty to be animalistic, and I was never impressed by his acting, he's okay, but why go for just okay...when you can knock it out of the park. Unfortunately for me, he's always too much like his Bond character in most of his action films. Plus, he would cost a fortune, why pay him a huge ass amount of money, when you can get a better actor that's more fitting for the role dirt cheap? Not to mention, Sony doesn't usually cast BIG named actors for their villains.

now, if you want a bond actor who could fit Kraven, (though, he's kinda on the older side) what about, Timothy Dalton

Damn, there's way too much sexy in here. :swoons:

My ideal choice would be Daniel Day-Lewis, as he is among the finest actors alive today. However, it's incredibly unlikely he'd do it, so we must look elsewhere.

Fehr could be good, with the right material. I'd be fine with him.

How do you go from the best actor on the list to the worst actor on the list?

...and for the record, I think Daniel Day-Lewis could be convinced. Javier Bardem is the biggest long-shot on the board. As perfect as I think he is, he reportedly "hates violence," and only did No Country for Old Men because the Coen Brothers were directing.

Personally, I don't understand the Gerard Butler-craziness, especially form Visionary, who's usually such a snob about not letting inferior actors into the Spider-Man franchise.

"Gerard Butler can yell. Gerard Butler is muscular. Gerard Butler had a beard in 300. This makes him uniquely qualified to play Kraven."

Facially, he arguably looks the LEAST like Kraven of any of the suggested actors, and in terms of acting talent, he's the second-worst only to Oded Fehr.

Oh, and between us, Javier Bardem had more intensity when silent in No Country for Old Men than Gerard Butler had in entire movie's worth of yelling from the bowels of his lungs in 300.

For one thing, you are not getting Daniel Day-Lewis to do a Spider-Man film, mention Spider-Man to him, and he'll laugh it off as a children's film, unfortunately.

Even with Gerald Butler, whom I think would do a pretty damn good job playing Kraven, if the script doesn't read like it's G-rated. I love the intensity from the guy, not the writing of making him yell every other line like he did in 300. But it was that animalistic nature of his being that made people see Kraven in him. Give him some noble dialogue, let him speak two other languages (Russia and Africa) when need be to give him a worldly stature.

But neither of these actors under the current Disney-like conditions that Sony have the Spider-Man movies under, could serve the character well. That goes twice for THE LIZARD.

Don't miss the point about what I want, believe me, if Spider-Man 4 is written with the intelligence, intensity, complexity and even the occasional graphic scene like James Vanderbilt's ZODIAC--mixed with key elements from Kraven's Last Hunt, Butler would nail the living hell out of Kraven. I have no doubt about that. Either way, we are not getting Daniel Day-Lewis or Javier Bardem, unless the script reads like an adult-oriented film and is challenging as hell. What are the chances of that happening?

I always liked Butler but it may be too obvious now.

you know, it sounds kinda wierd but, for some reason, this version of kraven, makes me think of, Vincent Cassel (from Ocean's Twelve)

I know, pretty random

And impossible to get. Daniel Day-Lewis is a pipe-dream for this franchise. It's what happens when you cater to juveniles.

cmon how can you not see that oded fehr is perfect for this part?
my order:
oded
josh brolin
ddl
gerald butler
no other possibilities
