really, established actors die before ever achieving a nomination, and she was considered for a nom before she was even a teen... that's talent for sure... I think this is the only famous (not too famous though) actress I could see as a young Storm... if not Keke, then an unknown actress would be best

Alright, it's been forever since I've done one of these, but I felt inspired tonight. I really wanted to show these choices in a manip, but lets just say I haven't found the right base pics.

Questions are welcome, as right now I don't feel like going into a schpiel of why I picked each one.

i'm not big on the longer haired version of hellion to be honest... and majority of the rest of the actors i've never heard of. I do however quite like Emma as Pixie though. You're Elixer seems the most off though, and Brittany Snow i think has the chops to be decently play the cuckoos yet at the same time she visually has too much personality then what the cuckoos convey. The rest are passable, in appearance, though i'd prefer and edgier look go X-23.

overall, tweak some, and it's a pretty decent job

Understandable. For X-23, I'm just sick of everyone being unimaginative and generic in choosing Summer Glau. I like her yes, but I find her a boring choice for the character, and I pretty much would just see River with Wolverine claws if she ever got the role.

With Hellion's hair, I like it short or long, I just would want it long enough to flow around his face when he's using his powers.

For Elixir, the only blonde pics I've found of him were the Twilight ones, and I didn't feel like people automatically betching because I had someone from Twilight in the cast. He really impressed me in S. Darko.

I never viewed the Cuckoo's as having no personality, hell Sophie was always more reserved than Phoebe, Celeste, Mindee, and Esme was the rebellious boy-crazy one. Plus in X-Men: The End mini-series(hate it if you want, I enjoyed it), it showed all 3 drastically different, so I'm sure even though their mainly sharing one mind so to speak, they'd each have their differences. And I think Brittany is a great candidate in that regard.

To be honest, the only one I'm not 100% happy with is Surge, but I can't really think of a good young asian actress that fits the role.

Eh, I wasn't really going for the original New Mutants, I was casting the more recent New Mutants/Young X-Men. And I like Alexz Johnson, but I don't know how I feel about her for Magma.

I really wouldn't want Summer in the role either... she's too old.

The cuckoos arn't characters that need to be focused alot upon anyway... and i feel they are most effective working in a hive mind. The 3 surviving ones have always acted the same to me. Eh, I don't think the choice has to scream that they're the character. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Nolan-Batfan saying all roles should be left field choices to surprise us like Ledger did, but despite Jackson being in the Twilight series, again I say, he really impressed me in S. Darko; One of the best performances of the movie.

True, but considering the Emma Frost that was given in Wolverine, I think Brittany will be alright; Probably would be better.
And though they work better as a hive mind, I don't see it damaging the characters if they had subtle personality traits.

Umm, I totally disagree with this. Sure, a lot of the time when I have the comparison pics they have similar hair, but that's far from being a driving point of me suggesting any actor for a role; Anything can be fixed with a good wig.
As for attraction, I will honestly say there is not one choice there that I chose because of my attraction to them.

thing is the Cuckoos would most likely never be main characters in a movie... and I think people are casting too big of names for them. There not terribly important characters.

It all depends on the story that would be being told. They were a pretty decent sized role in Wolverine and the X-Men finale, they've been used heavily in the Riot at Xavier's storyline, they made numerous appearances in New X-Men, they've even managed to crossover into the X-Men Legends 2 game. Sure, they're not main characters, but they do have a decent following.

no i agree... i just see them being played by no names. Even if it was a New/Young X-men movie.... the characters in most focus would prolly be.. X-23, Mercury, Rockslide, Dust, Hellion and Surge.... possibly pixie.

I think secondary characters in the movie would be, Prodigy, Anole, Elixer, cuckoos,

third would be matchstick, wolfcub, indra, loa, etc...
