Basic DC hero casting for JL crossover....if it were to happen in the next 3 years

untitled3.jpg

Superman - Brandon Routh
Batman - Henry Cavill (I would more expect Routh to return then Bale)
Wonder Woman - Taylor Cole
Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) - Ryan Reynolds
The Flash (Wally West) :o - Scott Porter
Aquaman - Phillip Winchester
John Jonzz - Jon Hamm
Green Arrow - Bradley Cooper
Supergirl - Aimee Teegarden
The Question - Jeffrey Donovan
Zatanna - Anne Hathaway
Black Canary - Jamie King
Blue Beetle - John Krasinski
Booster Gold - Scott Caan
Vixen - Zoe Saldana
The Atom - Patrick Wilson

u shouldnt expect routh to come back b4 bale. routh's contract is expired and he hasnt signed on to do anything. bale signed a deal to do 3 batman movie's and he said he would come back if the script was good enough. on top of that i think the nolans were in the process of writing the screenplay ( im not sure if its true or not). and no offense but i would hate to see zoe saldana play vixen, i think shes ugly and she has no body. she's not even black nor does she act like a real black woman. no disrespect.

i dont know about him bein the only choice but he's my pick for clark too. my problem is they need to let clark do some real investigating in the next movie. in SR he was an investigative reporter that didnt do any investigating throughout the whole movie. clark needs to be a real character and not just an extra. back in the day they could get away with makin the movie all about superman and hardly using the rest of the cast but now that just won cut it. we need a lil bit more clark and lil bit more emotion for superman.

Don't worry about his contract.

At the time there was no Superman project in development; thus no reason to pay money to resign him.

Now there's movement on the Superman front.. new contracts to be drafted at some point.

And he can always re-sign. That's not a big issue, really.

o im not worried. whoever ends up playin him i'll be glad to see. but im sure they'll bring routh back.

Routh's chances weren't so great during the point when WB didn't want to do another Superman anytime soon.

Now, thanks to the lawsuit... and the deadline of development by 2011... Routh's chances are A LOT stronger.

Good chance we'll be getting another Superman film in the short-term.

They own everything until 2013 when they lose Superman's origins and more.

Thus the ideal time to do a reboot Superman origins film is prior to that..

Otherwise it will be tricky and EXPENSIVE.

will they ever get all rights to the character back

Get rid of Seann William Scott......

And have Scott Porter in the lead as Barry and then you've got something.

leave scott porter as wally and get rid of sean william scott and then u most definitley hav something. wally is more than just comic relief, we dont need every single person that plays him to be a comedian.

Yeah, but...... Scott Porter is a WB favorite for Flash..

AND

The script likely involves Barry as The Flash...

Barry is the better bet here for him.

I bet IF Wally even appears in Flash, he'll be a kid.

Even though i do not like routh for clark kent/superman, yes his contract is up and yes they could have him back if they want. But if the plan is to serve all ties from SR/donnerverse take of the character, and they are going to clean slate everything it would be best to leave routh in the past and find a new guy. But who knows how things will go. Maybe he will be left a potential choice in case they cant find someone in a reasonable time frame before the court deadline of 2011 for a film in production.

Though i personally think their is many other actors out their who can and could be a good clark/superman.

I disagree.

It's the hardest role to cast; due to 50% of the role involving a physical look.

And certainly the Superman Casting thread couldn't come up with any decent choices..

It will either be Brandon Routh, or another complete unknown. The later was likely if the film was gonna happen in the long-term..

However, if this 2011 development time plays out for a 12/13 release in the short-term, Brandon's chances went up astronomically.

Contracts will be drawn out once there's a script, director and production team in place, as was the case with GL and every other film.

could be but its all about what direction they go with and if its a clean slate and they dont want anyone from past invovled or not. And i am sure with the right director/casting people they could find their superman.

The interesting thing is whether Bryan Singer will get a 'producer' credit in this; just as Burton did in Batman Forever.

Singer still has a 'pay or play' deal in place with the Warners. They'll have to satisfy that somehow.

Since Welling has embraced his typecasting by becoming a producer on Smallville... I wouldn't be surprised if he were cast in a Superman Film.

It might be WB's way of stealing some of Marvel's one universe thunder.

:thing: :doom: :thing:

They can still go 'clean slate' with Brandon Routh.

It's all about the script and action. They're going for whatever will make them the most money.

All Brandon would have to say is "Superman Returns was the bookend to the classic Donner films and this film is a modern retelling of Superman's origins for this generation"

It's not that complicated.

who knows at this rate what the heck is going to happen with superman. if singer does get any credit now it will just be a in name only crap like folks have said for awhile. As for his pay/play deal i dont know.

I disagree. These forums just happen to be super sticklers for the look of Supes. Its pretty ridiculous. An actor with a good enough look that can knock the ball completely out of the park performance would and should always be better than an "actor" with an off-the-page appearance and barely passable acting ability

sure they can do that but then we are just getting things into a confusing place again. like how sr was a vauge sequel/quasi sequel to superman 1 and 2. If its clean slate i and i know others out their would want it to be a total clean slate. To help this next film totally step away from all the faults SR was and to not have anything holding it back.

The Smallville universe spinning off into the DC film universe would be brutally horrible and convoluted.

Thankfully they aren't going that way.

I'm all for the DC films having one universe; but tying the whole thing to a CW drama that 3 million watch is ******ed.
