Ha!
A fresh new forum.

I sincerely hope that Ledger will play a great Joker. :joker:

No doubt in StorminNorman's mind - and StorminNorman is never wrong...except for about the title of BB2...and Bettany for the Joker...and a whole bunch of other stuff :(

A definite "YES". This choice is so far out of left-field, it has to work. Ledger has proven himself a capable and versatile actor. Nolan sees him as 'fearless' which is exactly what the Joker is. I can't wait to see him duke it out with Bale.

I notice that Nolan is keen on casting proper 'actors' rather than flavas of the month; at least, for the male roles, anyway. I think that shows he truly cares about the characters and wants to do them justice on the bigscreen. I never for one second thought of Ledger as Joker, but now it's been announced, it makes total sense.

If Ledger's acting is so impressive that he can carry an entire gay cowboy movie (other than all those sweet NY style boobs that were in it), then I'm sure he will do fine in this movie.

I think he will be, because Nolan thinks he will be.

At this pont, I can't really say Ledger will be brillaint or horrible. I think that Ledger is a good choice; just not sure how well he will handle the role.

Honestly, i think ledger isa horrible choice, last night i sawa picture of vincent cassel, that guy was born to be the joker. ledger may prove me wrong (as oldman did) but at the moment im so not happy.

oh and my user name..........what are the chances:)

I really doubt Nolan would make a mistake as big as Ledger being horrible. I think he'll be - at least - good, although I don't think everyone will be happy with the interpretation of the character.

Bingo.

I say yes. I trust Nolan's judgement. He hasn't made a misstep yet (except for Holmes). If he sees something in Ledger, then we're most likely in for a real treat when we see his Joker hit the big screen.

I didn't mind Holmes, she didn't change the movies for me. I didn't mind her acting in the film.

But there's no real need for her in TSK, imo.

The only time I got pissed at Holmes about her in BB, was after the movie premiered she was on Letterman, Letterman asked her if she wanted the fans watch her movie BB, or the movies her boyfriend was in, IM3.

Well to my dismay she wanted the fans to watch her boyfriend's MI3. :( :o

Like I said, no need for her in BAT2 or 3. imo

She wasn't very believable IMO. She came across as too young and fresh faced for the part. I myself would've gone with an older actress, like Jennifer Connelly or Rachel McAdams.

It can't be a perfect world, nor Batman movie. :D

well looking at the manips, its definitely possible for him to be transformed into Joker. i have no doubt hes a good actor (Oscar nominee), i just havent seen him in any dark roles (10 Things I Hate About You doesnt count).

Heath Ledger as the new joker is going to be an interesting and challenging role for him...i can almost see him as the joker..the emphathis on the word 'almost'. i think what will be most important is the voice..just like mark hamill did in the batman series..and kevin michael richardson has it almost down pat..not like mark hamill voice but close enough..i should think..but im gonna hold reservation until i actually see the actual film..u know thinking back to his role in A Knight Tale with that wild hair..i think he can do a pretty good Joker..

I have my doubts about Ledger. I'm not disrespecting his acting skills in no way what so ever. But, if Nolan was a smart man... he would cast the only person who could have pulled it off with flying colors.

Vincent Cassel is the Joker in my honest opinion.

i have the upmost faith in Nolan, Batman Begins rocked and he wouldn't just pick a actor because of the name, Heath had to possibly try out for the role, and Nolan loved what he saw.

Heath is a good actor too, and I think he will be a great Joker, but he has some big shoes to fill, cause Heath will always being compared to Jack's Joker from Burton's film.

Like I said i have faith in Nolan.

Adrien Brody was my ideal Joker for this next movie, but now they've gone with Ledger, I guess we just have to hope for the best.

I was hoping they'd have gone down the route of KILLING JOKE. We knew the Joker was around at the end of BB, and with the sequel needing to be a few years on to allow the restoration of Wayne Manor, it would have set the scene nicely for the part where Jim & Barbara are in the house looking at the scrap book clipping of Batman & Joker meeting for the first time.

Brody would have been awsome in that role. Wirey enough, and with the nose & skeletal grin already in place.....

Time will tell. Ive only seen the guy on Four Feathers and Brothers Grimm and wasnt really engaged by the acting or the movie in general so its hard to judge the guy based on 2 movies.
