Dunno if this rumor is true or false. But one thing i do know for sure:

If Heath Ledger didn't die, he would be on this new movie. And I am sure that Nolan had everything planned about how Joker would fit in a possible third movie.

I completely agree with this. Maybe it wasn't the plan all along...but after his performance in TDK, Warner Bros. probably would have demanded Nolan add Joker to the story.

I doubt it too. But if done right, it could be good. But again I don't see Nolan going this route.

Nolan took alternate takes of the same scenes. I can only think of two that weren't in the film that I've seen pics or vids of:

1. Him in the backseat of a car supposedly after the penthouse party scene
2. Another car scene with him and I THINK Gordon. I took this clip during filming of that scene: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZoPcxNuHN0

If anything like this happens, I hope it's just quick flashbacks like in a nightmare sequence for Bruce.

I could see Joker being shown in some way in Arkham - but not sure how else the character could be used.

The only unused footage that I can even think of is:
- getting into a car and leaving after tossing Maggie out da window and
- riding in a bus after the hospital explodes

Neither of which would work at all in an entirely new context.

SO I CALL BULLSH-

And yet that might not be all the unused footage there actually is.

Just because you can't imagine it doesn't mean some might not exist.

This kind of reminds me of SUPERMAN RETURNS using Marlon Brando's Jor-El. Like everything else, it depends on the execution. I'm more interested in how well anything serves the character of The Joker than in how it serves Heath Ledger, but for continuity's sake, they shouldn't change The Joker if they don't have to. I can see The Joker having a cameo in a Lectre-esque role as has been discussed before. Maybe they've got some great scenework that wasn't used? Eh, we'll see. I kinda don't buy it, but it wouldn't surprise me if this actually happened, either.

I am all for seeing Joker ride in on a CGI Arkham bus.

It depends on the execution definitely. If there's a point to it, if it feels organic and necessary, then by all means they should go for it. But if they were to do it just for the sake of doing it, i.e. fan service, absolutely not.

That vid has hardly any unused footage.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see Heath in the third. Man that wonderful.
But its not gonna happen.

Im sure as hell not gonna get my hopes up.

I'd like to see a cameo, simply for continuity. A Heath Ledger look-like sitting in a cell with a straight jacket on, cackling as Batman passes by his cell would be enough.

Batman walks through a long hallway in Arkham Asylum.

A janitor is mopping the floor as Batsy walks by. "Whoa. Watch it there, Batman. It's slippery. So what brings you here? Dr. Crane causin' trouble again?"

Joker cackles in a nearby cell.

Batman seemingly doesn't notice, "No. I'm wanted for murder and every cop in town is after my ass, but I felt like takin' a stroll. This seemed to be as good of a place as any. Hey, don't I know you?"

"Yeah, you do...
I sold you some falafel once."

Cameo? LOL.

Re-cast the mf and have the Joker in the third film. What's so difficult about it?

Moviehole says it's not true, according to a WB source. I take it back, I'm disappointed.

Pure B.S.

Nolan is far too smart to allow something like this into one of his films.

It would completely overshadow everything else. Every cast member's hard work would be completely pushed aside, and THIS would be the number one spotlight story concerning the film. On the cover of every magazine.

When you're trying to escape out of the shadow of one of the biggest movies of all time and create something that can be accepted as a worthy followup, you don't piggyback off that movie's dead star. It would be The Dark Knight's inadequate stepbrother.

It needs to be its own monster. Let the Joker rest for one damn movie.
