I think if they announced a MOS2, it would definitely help MOS1 get to 300 million domestically.

They need to give half of PR IMAX screens back to MOS. I know people will go see MOS again at the Big screen before its finally gone for good. PR is a flop anyway.

If they announce a date I hope it's a real firm date and not one that's just going to be pushed back like when they originally announced MoS would come out in dec. 2012 or when Star Trek was originally announced for Dec. 2008.

I'll be pretty leery at any late 2015 date for that reason.

I think they can easily make a 2015 release date.

Snyder has nothing lined up to direct and Cavill has only UNCLE which he will finish filming this year. The other cast have smaller parts and can easily give 2-3 weeks dates to film the movie.

Now as for the script, I believe they had already started work on the script even before MOS released. So a script should be ready by early next year too.

The thing is with a late year release date the temptation exists to just wait it out for the following summer season and give more time for production and the like. Any delay in production for whatever reason gives them the excuse to just bump it til the summer.

I feel these December release dates are sometimes just thrown out there to appease the public, with the private idea being it will likely be bumped to the summer anyways?

I agree. Plus there is nothing good about a trilogy being over. I'd much rather be waiting for the 2nd (or 3rd film) than seeing it all go by quickly and having to wait for the beginning of another Superman trilogy which may be a 10-year wait or more. But I understand why some fans want it soon, to take advantage of the hype of this year's film. Although I personally don't care about how much hype there is and how much a film makes at the box office. I don't mind if they spread the trilogy out.
