The contracts allow them to appear for non-TV promotions. Indies like PWG are fine but the only TV promotions in North America they can appear for are LU and AAA. No WWE, TNA, ROH, CMLL, or Paragon.

That becomes interesting based on the recent rumors about Prince Puma in that he's done with LU and for the time being he's New Japan. Ricochet in New Japan also means ROH is a possibility. The issue there is whether or not there's a loophole in his contract with LU in that he can wrestle as Ricochet in ROH and New Japan but not as Prince Puma elsewhere outside of LU.

No, promotions outside North America aren't considered competition. He could appear for any promotion in Japan, the UK, Germany, etc and LU doesn't care as long as he meets his commitments to them.

I've heard Ricochet will become a free agent in October of next year.

He is a free agent now, but his LU contract prohibits him from appearing for another TV promotion until six months after his last LU match airs. He declined to re-sign with them but the terms of his last contract still apply.

LU has already taped its entire season 3 and he was in it, so assuming season 3 airs more like season 1 did (and it should, because the episode order has been increased back to the season 1 total) his last match will air sometime next summer. So late 2017/early 2018 would be the soonest he could appear on TV for ROH/TNA/WWE/CMLL.

I was mindlessly flipping channels earlier and stopped on CMLL on one of the Spanish channels, and strangely two of the commercials were in English. The show itself was in Spanish along with all the other commercials, but there were two English language ones just thrown in there.

I'm glad Jerry got this resolved, but it wouldn't shock me to see him have even more relationship issues, and subsequently legal problems, in the future. He's been dating young women for years now and it's brought him nothing but grief. Now he's engaged to a woman who is nearly 40 years younger than him, and who he has admitted is an alcoholic. This doesn't bode well.
