Apocalypse Channing Tatum As Gambit?

How does resigning Lawrence fit into that? They haven't been in a rush to resign jackman either it's just after 7 movies at some point jackman will say its time to move on

With Jackman nearing the end of his run as Wolverine, FOX needs stars that can attract audiences to the X-Men series and be spun off into solo films. Signing Tatum and resigning Lawrence to lucrative multi-picture deals would be a very wise move.

That remains to be seen, as far as Tatum is concerned, in my opinion. Audiences didn't flock to White House Down and Jupiter Ascending looks like another dud.

I don't really like Channing Tatum and I'm not crazy about gambit either so definitely a film I would give a miss to

People always say that but he keeps returning for every X-Men film.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's already in his 60s and he is still appearing in X-Men movies even if its just a cameo.

I've never seen this guy in anything but I feel like he'd be a good Gambit due to his passion for the role. As much as I liked that Taylor fellow, if they want to erase Origins, be my guest.

What passion? All he says is he can relate to Gambit and that it's his favorite X-man. I would say that too, if they were going to cast me.

Well, he wants the role more than Taylor guy does that's for sure. He actually knows who the character is, that's a good start isn't it??

I suggested this idea on the old CBR forums, but nobody responds there. So, howzabowza here? How about we Tatum as Gambit in this movie, Remy LeBeau and all and then have him star in a solo Gambit movie later that acts as a prequel.

It would have Taylor Kitsch making a small guest role and show Channing Tatum as his heir, Jordan a street orphan with the name given to him by Gambit. Basically, Kitsch's Gambit is one of two halves of one of New Orlean's leading thieves guilds. Nobody knows who he is other than his partner, Julien Bordeaux. One thieve's guild is full of one kind of mutant, and Gambit's is full of kineticists like him. At a gala, which Gambit doesn't attend, Jordan goes in his place. He meets Julien and is enthralled by his sister, Bella, but he doesn't socialize much and is unawares that she is also as stricken by him as he is she. When he returns home, he finds Gambit near death. He is told to become the Gambit. Taking Remy LeBeau's name and identity, Jordan becomes Gambit and unravels a conspiracy involving Julien. In the end, despite his love for Bella, he murders Julien and is exiled from New Orleans, leading into Apocalypse.

The best part about this is, because of Days of Future Past's mutable timeline, we can ignore Kitsch was ever involved with X-Men Origins and just treat him as a mentor like figure just for continuity's sake. I mean, Kitsch has stated he is willing to come back if the story and everything were right and he doesn't seem like the kind of guy who hates the character so much that he would never want to return.

Im fine with Tatum. He seems passionate about the character and wants to do it right.

Inb4, don't judge because Heath Ledger blah blah blah blah blah.....................

In my opinion, this is the worst casting call since Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern.

Good for him. I hope it turns out well.

I didn't like Kitsch at all so Im happy they get rid of him.for future X movies. Im not saying that Im fully into Tatum's casting, but I feel better. Plus, he looks like he will put 200% of effort into it to prove the world he's actually a good choice.

I prefer an actor who have everything to prove for the sake of his reputation and fragile career (i know he's the new Godwin's law of the internet, but Heath Ledger as Joker comes to mind) than one that think he can do the role effortlessly because he knows the public and the fandom are praising him and he has nothing to lose (ryan reynolds as GL).

Give him his chance.

You know what? Tatum is a great actor. He was fantastic in "21 Jump Street" and has good dramatic chops as well, as seen in "A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints". I think he's a bit too bulky but other than that I think he's perfect for Gambit. Really excited.

I see the potential but still am not too happy they really could have gotten someone better

I can see the potential, and I'm glad he'll be introduced in this film before his solo outing.

Oooo first time discussing on any thread on the apocalypse forum

I like him, I think he's hot and gambit has to have something to make feel roar!

I don't mind this casting. Tatum has gotten better over the years and they're clearly going to make him the new poster boy for the series once Hugh leaves.

Sounds like they are defo pushing for a gambit film after apocalypse, i mean they for some reason are more confident about this then deadpool

My guess would be that they think coming off of Gambit being in Apocalypse, they would rather have Gambit have his own film than risk Deadpool coming out of nowhere.

Fun fact - Apparently Deadpool comics grossed 1 million in April alone
