character's like Rocksteady, Bebop, Krang, and other character's exclusive to the 80's show, should they be in this movie? Or should they just use character's from the comics and maybe from the 2003 series?

The thing about the Mirage Comics, true the turtles were kick-ass characters, but aside from The Shredder, The Foot Clan, The Purple Dragons, Baxter Stockman, and the Triceratons, they didn't have a good rogues gallery.

Now, the 80's toons really had a great line up of villians, but they were too damn goofy and slapsticky.

That's why I say they should go with the way Archie did. Have the 80 characters with the tone of the Mirage books.

I wouldn't mind seeing a few pop up. Though, I prefer the more serious latter incarnations for the most part.

Really, I think the first movie should focus on Splinter and the Turtles, with the foot clan, then move on to more strange things.

Rocksteady and Bebop have the most potential; while as the seasons went by they got dumber, their concept is still pretty iconic and awesome. Better than Tokka and Razhar.

As long as they don't use Krang or any of that stuff from Dimension X (or those battle-toads-lits) I'm fine with that

I want to see Krang in the Technodrome using Beebop and Rocksteady as henchmen doing evil stuff! Basically I want these moveis to be more 80s than ever before! And it will be glorious :awesome:

Just think about it: Bay gets to play with Dimension X :wow::hrt:

My brother checked a website showing Krang design for the new Nickelodeon show

No. I grew up on the 80's cartoon, but when I saw the 1990 movie, it changed my perspective, and I just can't take Bebop or Rocksteady as serious foes.

They can be more threatening in a serious show/movie
The 80s cartoon has ninja turtles taken out by men in business suits and they barely fight like ninja, they have the title, weapons, some throws....and breaking everything around them in a fight

And that's why you have to update them. Thats like saying that you can't take Shredder seriously as a villain based on the later seasons of the 80's toon.

I have no desire to see Rocksteady and Bebob or others Fred Wolf Cartoon characters in a ninja turtles film.

Personally, I'd be fine if they just took the 2003 cartoon and just put that on screen. But I can understand that Bebop, Rocksteady and Krang have their fans as well. And really, those are the only ones, I'd be fine with to be used from the 80's cartoon. But personalities? Major overhaul please.

I have to pass on Bebop and Rockseady. They were fun and stupid in the cartoons, but I don't want to see them in live action. Though I would seriously be down for Krang. Especially if his voice was the same as in the cartoons but more evil.

i just watched Turtles Forever last nite and it was amazing how much they crapped on the 80s characters

don't get me wrong, i thought it was a great movie and i loved the interactions between the '03 characters & '87 characters, but they made the 80s characters too damn goofy

Shredder & Krang were hilarious though. and i loved it when Raphael from '87 broke the 4th wall and the characters from the '03 series had WTF looks on their faces :woot:

^Phealous hates that movie for the way they crapped on our childhood turtles, I actually love it for that reason, can't bare watching the 80s series these days without cringing, only Raphael is enjoyable, and Shredder with Krang interactions

Fully agree on Raphael breaking the fourth wall, those scenes were brilliant

uhm? Forever didnt crap on the 80s. I thought it was quite apparent they used it with love and respect, just pointing out how ridiculous the show could be sometime.

As silly as the 80's show was, I think some here are being..a little dismissive of it. It was the reason why I love the Turtles in the first place, and it did pave the way for Turtle mania. Think of it as the old Adam West Batman.

They were exaggerated a little just to show the contrast between the new and the old more. If they would've been exactly like in the series, it wouldn't have been as interesting.

The new turtles were portraid a little more serious too, though in that case it was very subtle.

They made them much dumber, and too pudgy

I wouldn't mind seeing Slash, Traag and Granitor at some point.
