Children Of Men

He is. He truly is. My all time favorite actor. I can't wait to see him in The Prestige (it will be released februari 8 here..which is a disgrace) And also I can't wait for the Children of Men DVD.
I cant wait to see The Prestige but Im also from Europe so I wont see it this year
:csad:
But look at the bright side, we got Children of men sooner than Americans:yay:

Both the Prestige and Children of Men were great films, certainly in my top 3.

I must admit though, I was very suprised when Julianne Moore's character was killed off so quickly in Children of Men

It's a great movie, and my favourite of this year so far. It came out way earlier than most parts of the world, so I had the pleasure of seeing it just near the end of last month. I was very impressed at how visually stunning it was, and at the long shots. I highly recommend it. Alfonso doesn't disappoint.

Children of men is one of THE best movies I saw this year, and this year had been kind of dissapointing to say the least. even the prestige left me kind of iffy. ( I saw the "twist"coming from a freaking mile away, both of the supossed twists) however, this....oh man, I merely expected it to be another "oh darn this dystopian future-soylent green is people" bull****.

as It turns out it's not, all the posters talking about how great Caine is?
utterly brilliant, all actors (save a few counted exceptions) do a marvelous job of completely suspending your disbelief, that's a great thing, and the attention put into minor characters is encouraging. especially now that all films are so..well horrible.
perhaps it's the fact that TV shows with good storytelling are having a good run and maybe this will impact the movie industry (finally)
Clive owne is just awesome, few people play believable slobs and this guy does a terrific job of throwing aside the forced charm most hollywood actors seem unable to live without.
If I have one complaint it was some of the set design, it seemed to not coincide with the message, but perhaps I merely had a different idea of what the message trully was.
plus, unlike other movies that hammer their politics carelessly, this movie does it in such a way that you HAVE to acknowledge it, you can't write it off as propaganda, you can't ignore it.
it's the first movie in a while to actually move me to tears. and I was NOT a cuaron fan to beigin with.

I'm totally renting Harry Potter after this.

no.....wait

He He , totally :woot:

I did see this flick a couple of weeks back. VEry good flick IMO , especially since a) i'm a hindu and therfore part of a minority and b) it portrays a very real future society that could exist if certain politicians have their way.

I also loved the scenes where everything was shot in 1 take. How Cuaron did that i have no idea.
But he knows how to blend film technique's with a amazing story.
8/10

i saw it yesterday and i dont think it deserves all the hype you guys are giving it although i do feel its one of the years most importent films and it could be an oscar contendor. the ending was amazing and the story was very well put together and i liked the hand camera, gritty documentry style cauron filmed it in, but in the end i jus don't think it was amazing. I thought i would absolutely love this film but in the end it just proved to me that Alfonso Cauron continues to be over rated by many however he is a good director. The one scene that really shocked me however was the scene where they're ambushed on the road and Julian Moores character is...well you know. I thought that gritty style he filmed that scene in was awesom.

what i expected was a 9/10, what i felt i got was a 7/10. still a positive review but its shockingly average when i felt i would be blown away. it was such a cool principle.

that said wow i could actually see a future like this happening. i think i might read the book.

Sometimes I wonder who approves coverart like this. Seriously. Anyone can see that this is ****. It's too bright. And *badly* photoshopped. And I SO hoped they wouldn't do this.

Well...let's hope they'll change it.
I think that most ppl who buy/rent the DVD based on the cover not knowing anything about the film will be very disappointed. It looks like some ordinary action movie I wouldnt give time of the day
