It also doesn't help that Dax Shepard and Michael Pena are the leads. I've got nothing against them. Hell, I like Pena a lot. But they don't exactly get asses in seats the way Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill did for Jump Street.

Valderama would kill it as Ponch, even in a serious take on the show like this is supposed to be. He's pretty badass in the new season of NCIS.

I used to love this show as a kid. Going back and watching the occasional rerun on TV, I find it cheesey as hell now. But it was awesome when I was little. The same can be said of a lot of my childhood favorites (The A-Team, MacGuyver, The Incredible Hulk, SHAZAM, etc).

Ehhh. Not necessarily. Depending on marketing, I could very easily see more people drawn to "motorcycle cop action comedy" than "Twilight-ized reboot of early '90s afternoon superhero show, with it's most recognizable castmembers playing a floating head, a CG robot and the fourth queen eliminated on RuPaul's Drag Race".
