...your formative years are 0-8.
formative - Dictionary Definition.

formative
Formative is a word that describes something that made you who you are. You might call your adolescence your formative years because that time period had such a strong influence on the rest of your life.

ad·o·les·cent
/ˌadəˈles(ə)nt/

adjective
  1. (of a young person) in the process of developing from a child into an adult.

    Similar:
    teenage

    teenaged

    pubescent

    youthful

    young

    juvenile

Are we gonna need a Canadian to English dictionary round here now?

What I was exactly typing before he posted that:

In case Krypton is writing some essay about how actually "this Harvard case study once said that a person's true formative years are whenever you want them to be", I'm referring to your formative years where you first develop the basic skills of life, and develop an awareness for things around you. Which is why people who went through early childhood in the 90s have such strong memories of the culture of that time, because they're their FIRST memories. They were not your's.

And look at that, the definition even says "might call", or "whatever you want them to be" paraphrased.

Bri... It's okay that you were wrong and that no dictionary employs the definition of formative years being 0-8.

It happens.

You lost to the American and it stings. Your consolation is that even though I was right I'll likely be dead anyway before the year is up from... Let's go with... Ice Jackals? Civil War II: Electric Boogaloo? The return of New Coke? And on the day that the radiation in the U.S. subsides and finally permits entrance, you, with your Candian Ministry Of Health provided cyborg legs will be able to come on down to wherever my body was put to rest and urinate upon my remains.

So anything is a win... From a certain point of view.

What Ages Are the Formative Years of a Child?

UNICEF states that the early childhood years from birth through age 8 are formative in terms of intelligence, personality and social behavior. The first two years are particularly crucial.

People develop best intellectually, emotionally and inter-personally when their formative years are free of repression, natural disasters, malnutrition, polluted water and armed conflict, according to UNICEF.

The formative years of a child differ, however, based on the specific type of development in question. According to PBS, when considering the development of attachments to caregivers, the first five years of life are the most important. PBS indicates that therapy helps some adults develop attachments even when they are deprived of connections during their first five years.

Eat **** you insufferable prick. It was a throwaway line, based on a joke about Friends. Once again, as in everything, you have to insist on being right ALL THE TIME, or until you browbeat someone into submission.

just finished eurovision.... jesus h christ lol

Is it good? I saw mixed reviews. A lot said that there's the traditional Ferrell unhinged bits, but that there's big lulls or boredom between them.

approach it with anchorman in mind with greens dutch ways. it has pierce brosnan..... pierce brosnan i say....

simply put i thought it was great and hilarious.

I apologize Bri for any offense. None of which was intended and as you may have noticed, I was as engaged in levity as you were. (I assumed the references to robot legs and Ice Jackals would have made that clear.) Nothing serious was being discussed and I wasn't even in the mindset of being in "debate mode".

If I got you, YOU of all people heated I must have done something wrong.

It's fine, it's fine. I probably overreacted.

You're still an insufferable prick tho. I say that with affection. Or... tolerance.

I could probably pause Friends long enough to watch it. The Dutch Way has always been my way.

I don’t see any overreaction here.

Better or worse than:

Blades Of Glory

Starsky And Hutch

Dodgeball

Note... Not the greatest comedies per se, but I have an enormous soft spot for each. So... compared to those what's the rating?

How is my being a teenager in the 1990's somehow not my formative years you obtuse chuckle ****?

I take no responsibility for calling you chuckle ****.
Your age-addled brain can't grasp our point, as only true 90's kids could. It's ok. My mom and I struggle with these conversations too.

I mean... will is only in blades of glory and barely starsky.... I'll have to settle and watch again soon. it's one of those will movies that need a rewatch for official ratings... I'm very precise and intellectual

I can't see it being above Dodgeball, though. That's a classic of American cinema.

It showed Iceland for the godless land it is, which got it over the line for me. Also Pierce Brosnan.

He's definitely #2 for me.

And no, it's not just because the Brosnan and Craig movies are the only ones I've seen.

No one wants to post because they know it'll be lost in the warp.

Well hot damn. My 5th favorite Bond!

He was a good little steward, keeping the role warm between the Cold War and 9/11.

Remember when Edge ate all those people?

Until my dying breath I will never forget Floki’s response to that of threatening to castrate Edge, immolate his wife and rape his son. That right there was the kind of flex we don’t see nowadays.
