IDK. They have (had) these giant stores and you could get really good deals on computers, TVs, etc. They would have weekly sales where prices on certain things were very low. I haven't used them for about 5 years when I bought my mom a new computer there. There's one about 2 miles away from where my mom lives. I may go and check out to see if they have some clearance pricing if their doors are still open.

Never seen one that I remember in either Pa. or NYC.

It looks like they were mainly in CA (which is the only state that matters). The description was "very low prices and terrible customer service. Employees generally had very little technical knowledge" Check, check, and check.

I wish Resident Alien wasn't on so late, I keep falling asleep while watching it :( and trying to see it the next day won't work because Demand won't air it with CC(closed caption) :(

That seems wrong.
Have you contacted your provider? Why would the On Demand not have CC? This seems like an issue they would want to clear up for customers that require CC.

PS... What a great ending last episode. Two great cliffhangers for the price of one.

I'm not sure if I like Ava Max sampling 90's pop songs.

I'm sorry... I was lost in the reverie of thinking about all the time I spent in strip clubs in my 20's for a second.

That's what that music does to me.
There's more:

Not even going to bothered, saw a thread in another forum about Star Trek Discovery having the same trouble and it was over a year ago and they haven't fix it for them

Hey!! :cmad: Get out of my car!!!! :argh:

Damn cat! I have a stray cat that I named Trouble and it's now twice she jumped in my car while I was unloading from shopping

Her name is fitting, once she got locked in my garage and another time she got locked in the neighbor house, she gave birth twice and we had her kittens adopted-I just hope they are not handful like their mom

If I was hearing those songs it mean one thing...

So...

Before Covid I had something big in the works which... Covid did what it did to us all and messed whatever we had in the works up to the point some plans just got abandoned.

But... I'm starting to get the itch again... So...

I am seriously back into making this happen hopefully before 2023,

Uncle Kriptin wants to buy a motorcycle as his main method of transportation.

Specifically this bike, the Rebel 1100.

Any thoughts and opinions?

Before anyone asks... Yes, I will need to take all the usual DMV tests ect. So I will have to get a regular license first then do the moto thing. It's... Something I've never done. Ever.

I'm look for a relatively cheap way to travel to my mother's in Pa. and get around NYC. Plus... It's a hobby thing. I want something to "do". Lots to keep you occupied with a bike.

Anyone with some experience or knowledge want to lay some on me or talk me out of it?

They added that Star channel to Disney+ in Canada a few days ago, and I never got around to looking through the catalog. The first thing I picked was obviously Independence Day. I've seen it 136 times, but never in 4K. World of the future.

...Although the Canadian library doesn't have Lost, while the UK one does, apparently. This stupid country.

You wanna ride a motorbike around Manhattan? Are you nuts...? :hehe:

Why ask questions you already know the answer to?

But for real... In terms of commuting I work nights and from where I am in Brooklyn via the BQE/Brooklyn bridge at night going to Manhattan at my job is at best a 15-25 minute deal. Via subway... 40 minutes to an hour depending. And on my way home traffic is coming into the island but there's less going over the bridges each morning to Brooklyn.

Also, I just want to have something I can on a whim go, "Hey... Today maybe I drive out to the end of Long Island just cuz."

And a bike gives you one of the ultimate powers among NYC motorists of any stripe... You can park it anywhere practically.

But that's me smelling my own farts on the subject.

In London what's the bike scene like?

Traffic in central London is comparable to Manhattan, so glad I haven't lived in London since I was a nipper!
Although I think the prize for worse traffic would have to go to you brother... Nowhere else have I seen an ambulance totally stuck in traffic with its sirens and lights blazing but Manhattan! Cars were not even attempting to get out of the way, I honestly could not believe it...

I can understand the idea of wanting to use a motorbike to get around New York, it makes complete sense. Just be watching out for all the idiots that don't pay enough attention on the road.
As an aside, I have a friend who is a 30 year veteran motorbike rider. He has been all over the world riding his monstrous machine! But two or three years ago he asked for my opinion as to whether he should give it up.
I asked why he was considering it and his answer was, I just don't feel safe out on the road anymore and I'm not enjoying myself when I am on it.
The answer I gave was, if you aren't enjoying it, stop. Not that long after he did and sold the bike. He has never regretted the decision.

So my advice to you sir is, get out there and do it. But only do it as long as you feel safe and are enjoying the experience... :D

And yes, the "nuts" part was pretty much rhetorical was it not? :cwink:

I used to race motocross and have had motorcycles off and on throughout my life. There is a real skill to being safe on a bike and it doesn't happen overnight. Used to race sprint cars too and feel the same way about cars. The difference is, obviously, protection. If you get into a minor car crash, it's generally not a big deal. I'm not sure there IS such a thing as a "minor" motorcycle accident.

If you are going to get a bike, I suggest taking it out in an open space, preferably dirt, where you can learn to maneuver, change speeds quickly, lose control, and fall without, hopefully, hurting yourself too badly. I learned to ride in a large vacant lot on Rosecrans near Western in Gardena when I was about 14. It had plenty of bumpy trails and even a lower level that allowed us to make a ramp we could attempt to kill ourselves on until we learned how to ride better.

Your call. LOL.

is there anything you haven't done?

These are book series that i really enjoyed so i really need Netflix to get this right.
