The Dark Knight Christian Bale Says : "We Left It Wide Open".

Yeah the budget is too much even if ther is stuff being blown up. Again go see Die Hard 4, that has tons of stuff being blown up and that only cost 110M and I'm pretty sure TDK action wont be as much as that, and even if it is how much more to warrant a 90M change in budget???

Who the f-cares how much they spent???

They'll make the movie. It'll most likely be good and make as much money as it can. WB are businessman far more educated in this stuff than we are. Let's keep our expertise where it belongs: in the lore of comic books.

Yes! Finally some reason.

Okay, so lets hear some theories...The Darknight ends with the Joker put back in the asylum, there is a Scarecrow cameo at the end, and the third installment features Scarecrow and Joker teamin up? ( just a theory of course.)

who hte f... cares how much money they spent on SR right?
its not like it ours money right?

no its now more then 1 year later and it looks like that they spend to much money :o

as a superman fan and batman fan.....i am scared :woot:

I wonder if they are filming 2 and 3 side by side? so that we may see a release of 08 then 09.....i only wonder because Iron Man finished wrapping and they started maybe a month before TDK...and the TDK isn't going to be done filming untill some time in september...octoberish. a little odd i think.

i dont know how i could forget this.
WB is the same studio who gave singer 200 milions and its the same studio who let him cut a 10 milions scene.

agains its WB so there are big chances that his movies budget is more than 200 milions. maybs its 150. who knows.

Again, where did this number, $200 million, come from for the budget of TDK? Can someone point me to an article? This is what I found:

Revenue estimate is $50 million for the first half of the year. It includes the $30 million expected from the latest Batman movie, “The Dark Knight,” which has a projected $150 million budget.

I thought 3 films was a lock for Bale so Im more interested about no.4 for him or even JLA since Routh is fired up for that one.

I think by "wide open" he meant for Two-Face.

Who would wnat to see Catwoman? Or is just Selina Kyle good enough?

Honestly, with the wannabe Batmen in this movie, the possibility of Catwoman being introduced is rather good I'd say.

Of course, given the 2004 disaster, the character would have to be handled faithfully and carefully.

But in the end, at least for me, Superman was a product of its good budget -- a lot of experimentation going on to discover some of the CGI designs (alghout the Krypton sequence being cut is just plain wasteful).

either way, it's really the LAST thing we should be harping or worrying about. Unlike SR, WB has a realistic expectation on what Batman should bring in from its past performance (recent performance) -- SR lacked this. So they've made an investment in a property that's shown itself to have a devote and consistent audience and now its willing to up the cash on the risk that'll pan out for more profits since more will be attracted...also, because studios don't make their money's off BO soley.

If TDK doesn't do as well as its budget suggests, the sequel will drop down to the original's budget since they know they can at least bring in that much money for the film. What this mean is that you'll see less "innovations" such as a bat-pod or a new bat suit....which really in the end has no impact on the real soul and story of this character.

So in short, dark b, don't sweat it, forget it!

I'm off now for a 4 hour drive back into Orlando from Tallahassee. Wish me safety.

It'd have been 7 years since that disaster if we keep up with the 3 year gap per film. That's almost the same gap between B&R and BB, so it isn't too bad. Most would have entirely forgotten that film ever existed anyway.

I know Im a loner in this but Im more happier not seeing Selina Kyle at all.
Im female so no way I can relate to her at all. I find her degrading.
But I suppose some guys like this kind of women.

I know I'm going to regret this in the morning, but in what way is she degrading to women?

I'd like to know this as well. I don't see it one bit.

Another episode of "Christian Bale states the obvious".

Selina Kyle's no more degrading to women than any other woman who's made mistakes or succumbs to a lust for power or control, or a lack of in their lives. I love her as a character. She's a very tragic character, at least she is when written properly, but has some great redemption aspects to her as well.

I don't find her degrading, but I don't see the character making an appearance in TDK. I don't really see her character develop well in one and a thirds movie, even though Burton did it in Returns. I guess I'd just rather see Ra's daughter as a future love interest and someone else to try and kill Bruce/Batman.

yes, strong, confident women who can give Batman a run for his money and at the same time are poised and beautiful make all women look bad...
