I just got the sky magazine today in the post and in the movie issue they have a double page spread about The Dark Knight. It's nothing that we didnt know already, theres a bit where Michael Caine describes Heath's Joker "genuinely terrifying...Like a nightmare".
At the end of the article it says in blue "Watch out for a special on The Dark Knight, showing on Sky Movies in July".
So at least we know us Brits are gonna get a special. It doesnt say when in July, just says July. I thought I'd just let everyone know.

This is what the article says "When Chris Nolan set about casting The Joker for his second Batman film,Brokeback Mountainstar Heath Ledger was a popular choice, not least with his co-stars. Christian Bale described Ledgers turn as 'anarchic, punk rock' while Michael Caine called it 'genuinely terrifying...Like a nightmare'. The 28 year old Aussie actor put his all into a part that would be his final full role, so his sudden death in January has cast a shadow overThe Dark Knight-but it's sure to succeed in its own, twisted right. This sequel sees the pointy-eared vigilante fighting The Joker, aided by oodles of new gadgets and gizmos-not to mention sexy Maggie Gyllenhaal as Bruce Wayne's love interest, lawyer Rachel Dawes (replacing Katie Holmes) Expect explosions, full-on fights and a little bit of sadism, with Ledger's Joker making Jack Nicholson in Tim Burton's 1989 version seem merely high-spirited... "When you get into the edit suite after shooting a movie, you feel a responsibility to an actor who has trusted you, and Heath gave us everything" Nolan told Newsweek after Ledger's death "I see him every day in my edit suite. I study his face, his voice. And I miss him terribly." The Dark Knight should prove a fitting tribute

Boo, don't have Sky Movies. :csad:

But all the same, it's good us UK folk are getting a special too.

You would expect this though, Sky Movies do previews for all the big movies, and even some of the smaller ones so this comes as no real suprise. No doubt MTV will also have a special on the film.

I remember MTV did one for Begins, so maybe.

I was watching Film 4 last night and in between the films they had little montages of upcoming films and one of them was TDK, they just showed the whole of trailer 3 with little sentences written saying bits and pieces about the film - this is the first time I have seen something on our tv about TDK

They have advertisements here in Australia for Greater Union cinema and they play footage of upcoming movies, it was awesome to see The Dark Knight footage on my tv.

I havent seen anything yet, but come maybe mid june there should be more. Also I might have to start wayching Film 4 more often now.

I think that when the telvesion spots start hitting over here, I will have to stop coming on these boards until after I see the film, especially since we get it a week later than the States

That is exactly what Im gonna do, I dont want to find out anything about the movie until I see it.

That's pretty exciting, anything that might get my friends and other Brits as excited as me is a good thing.

We'll be able to share our enthusiasm more as we get closer to the film :yay:

I remember when MTV used to play music :yay:

Thanks for the info.
I will keep an eye out for anything on, I can sky plus it and upload it after.

I dont think we will see much stuff hit till July anyway, they tend to delay all advertisment and merch for England till right before the films release.

I really hope MTV spoofs TDK like they did with Batman Begins :woot:

Well, I dont think they'll have enough time to parody it this year. They could do one for Begins because that was released in June and the movie awards was a couple months (I think) afterwards.

And also, what do you want scans of? The article?

I wish I was a brit just to see this! Scan, Scan, Scan :)

ill upload a scan in about 10 minutes. It is NOTHING major though just so you know.
